The Sims 3 Pets Guide › Essentials › New Simology

What's New

The Sims 3: Pets expansion pack adds... pets! Now your Sims can welcome dogs, cats, and horses into their households as fully playable characters. Dogs and cats can hunt for interesting and valuable collectables, and horses can win races and breed champions, earning money for their Sims. The trait reinforcement system lets your Sims guide their pets’ behavior to make them happy productive animals. Small animal pets are easier to care for than larger pets, pet birds can be taught to talk, and pet stones or ant farms are the simplest pets of all. Sims can also watch, befriend, and possibly even tame, wild animals. You know, such as unicorns...

But this expansion pack also adds a lot of new functionality besides pets. Your Sims have new traits to try out, new moodlets, new wishes, new opportunities, and new lifetime rewards. Sims who cook can now make gourmet pet food. New radio stations are on the air and new outfits are in the dresser. Buy Mode has been updated to make it easier to group objects by collection. Sims can now check into the hospital to have “a little work done,” via the new plastic surgery option. And a new grouping up option makes it easier for Sims visit other Sims or pets, or set up play dates for their animals.
