Pets don’t have Lifetime Wishes, but they get wishes just like Sims do. Many wishes are pretty easy to grant, while some might take a little more time. For example, a cat might wish to scratch on the cat condo, and that’s an easy one.
Make sure your cat has a cat condo, direct her to scratch it, and voila! The cat is happy. Or the cat might wish to improve her Hunting skill level. That will take a little work and time to accomplish, but the reward, in Lifetime Happiness points, will be higher.
Cats also have the same mood meter as Sims, and when that meter is green up to the bubble on the top, dogs earn Lifetime Happiness points just like Sims do. Happy, well-tended cats can earn some pretty cool Lifetime Rewards.

Needs
Cats don’t like to admit that they have needs, but they do. To keep your cat happy, and thereby keep the Mood meter at the top to build Lifetime Happiness points, make sure your cat has all these needs met:
Hunger, Bladder, Energy, Social, Scratch, Fun.
Hunger
Buy a pet bowl and keep it filled with plenty of food for your cats. If cats get too hungry, they start to yowl and display thought balloons about food. Starving your cat doesn’t go over well, and and the cat will lose LTR with everyone in the household
Cats with Hunting skill can forage for some of their own food, but many of the hunted objects they bring back are worth more than a bowl of food. Keep your hunting cats well fed on kibble, so they aren’t chowing down on rare butterflies.
Sims with at least one level of Cooking skill can prepare gourmet pet food for their pets. Feeding your cats gourmet pet food will actually prolong their lives.
Bladder
Cats are notoriously fastidious creatures. Make sure you have a litter box available for them to use. Everyone in the household will be happier. Oh, and make sure to keep that litter box clean! Not only does it get stinky, which is Disgusting to nearby Sims, but it becomes unacceptable to cats. Litter boxes have three cleanliness states: clean, dirty, and extremely dirty. Piggy cats don’t care how clean the box is, but Proud cats won’t use it if it’s even a little dirty, and most cats won’t use it if it’s extremely dirty. Which means they’ll find another spot... oh like here, on your shoes....
Energy
You probably won’t be surprised to learn that cats like to sleep. A lot. Or nap. Or nap and then sleep. Cats don’t sleep through the night like lesser beings. They sleep when they want, where they want. And later, they sleep some more. As long as your cats get plenty of sleep, they’ll be happy.
Social
Cats need social time with their Sims or with other pets. After all, aren’t Sims put here to feed and pet their cats? Make sure cats get plenty of petting, brushing, smooching, hugging, and other affectionate socials so they don’t get lonely.
Scatch
Cats’ special need is Scratch. Cats have an instinctual craving to scratch things to keep their claws sharp and perfectly manicured. They’ll scratch and claw the furniture if they don’t have alternatives, so make sure to buy a scratching post or cat condo from Buy Mode and place it where your cats can use it. Then try to gently encourage them to use that instead of the couch.
Cats will claw up your furniture unless you provide scratching posts.
Fun
Cats need to have Fun so they don’t become stressed or strained. Playing with their Sims or with toys helps cats have Fun. Cats can also have fun with the Play interaction, but they risk getting their claws stuck and getting the negative Me-ouch! moodlet.
Hidden Hygiene
Cats are naturally clean animals who can groom themselves when they start to feel a bit mussed. Cats have a Groom Self interaction and will do this automatically, or you can direct them to. Cats really hate to be dirty, and will get a mood hit for being Grungy, and a big mood hit for being Smelly. Cats with the Proud trait always try to prevent themselves from getting dirty.
Cats who spend time outside can get fleas. They might also pick up fleas if another pet in the household brings them in. The only way to get rid of fleas is by a bath. And let me tell you, cats hate baths! Bathing any pet makes the Sim’s own Hygiene tank, and on top of that, if a Sim tries to bathe a cat and the cat gets away, the Sim gets hit with the Cat Scratch negative moodlet.
Cats who groom themselves a lot without being brushed enough are more prone to develop hairballs. And hairballs lead to nasty messes to clean up. Brush your cat regularly to prevent hairballs forming.
