Equipment — Assassin's Creed Unity eGuide

Equipment can be acquired as rewards or purchased directly from the Character Customization menu. You can change Arno’s garb via the Character Customization menu or via a Gear Loadout statue in any Café. Equipment comes in five main categories: Head, Chest, Forearms, Waist and Legs. You can wear one piece of equipment in each category.

The pieces of equipment you choose improve Arno’s characteristics in different potential categories. These attributes, called “modifiers” in the game, should be taken into account whenever you decide which items to equip Arno with. Try to identify the strengths and weaknesses in your play style and choose your gear accordingly. For example, a player who struggles in combat might favor modifiers that increase Arno’s health or the damage he deals.

As with weapon acquisitions, purchasing new pieces of equipment as you progress in the storyline is a vital step in Unity. With combat becoming increasingly difficult with every Sequence you complete, neglecting to improve Arno’s armor will put you at a severe disadvantage.

The following tables reveal the purchase price, unlock conditions and modifiers for the many pieces of equipment that Arno can wear.

Club Competition Rewards

By creating or joining a club with online friends, you can earn exclusive rewards, including some high-level pieces of equipment of the “legendary” type.

To achieve this, you will need to earn high amounts of Creed Points. The total Creed Points gathered by all members of a club is compared with the totals earned by other clubs within a group of six. Finishing first of your group gives you access to an exclusive reward. To increase your chances, try to make the most of Creed Points multipliers awarded for completing certain specific actions or missions. If you take part in a Club Competition but do not win it, you can still buy its associated reward when it becomes available for purchase at a later point for the price indicated in the tables in this chapter.

Head Equipment

There are a multitude of head items that you can equip Arno with. In addition to their obvious cosmetic qualities, they offer actual improvements to Arno’s statistics, such as Eagle Vision enhancements, health bonuses, increasing the money he can loot, and extending the duration of the Assassin Cache skill.

Forearm Equipment

Forearm items offer a variety of bonuses, from the damage you deal to the amount of health that you restore to allies when you revive them. The most valuable modifiers are increased Phantom Blades and Berserk Blades capacities, as both are practically indispensable.
