Assassin's Creed Unity eGuide Reference & Analysis

Consumables

Consumables include both tools and ammunition for your ranged weapons. There are multiple ways to refill your stocks:

■ By looting the corpses of fallen enemies.

■ By buying them in shops.

■ By using the Assassin Cache skill, though this only applies to ammunition, Phantom Blades, Smoke Bombs, Stun Bombs, Cherry Bombs, Money Pouches, and lockpicks.

You can increase your capacity of most consumables by wearing certain pieces of equipment.

Health Potions are used by pressing and refill your health bar.

Lockpicks are used automatically when you pick the lock of a chest or a door. Each failed attempt (in other words, whenever you press / when the slider is outside of the safe blue area) permanently consumes a lockpick. If you run out of lockpicks during a lockpicking attempt (for example, if you have unlocked two pins out of three), you will have to replenish your supply and start over.

All other consumables are used automatically when you activate the corresponding ranged weapon or tool. Each use permanently consumes one unit. Note that you can reload by pressing / when you have an appropriate ranged weapon equipped.
