Café Théâtre

From the moment you interact with the door to the Café Théâtre on Ile de la Cité, above the Brotherhood base – which is possible from Sequence 03 onwards, and becomes mandatory if left until the start of Sequence 05 – this building becomes Arno’s headquarters. It acts both as a nerve center where you have access to various features (such as changing Arno’s equipment), and as a source of missions and income after you upgrade and renovate the premises and its immediate environs.

As a source of funds, Café Théâtre is a potential goldmine, which is why you should make it a priority to complete its missions and acquire other cafés in Paris (known as “Social Clubs”) at a relatively early stage in the story. Before we explain the workings of this system, however, let’s take a tour of the building.

Arno’s Room

In Arno’s Room ( ), you can access your Gear Loadout to change your equipment or purchase new pieces, and review your progress in the game. You can also read newspaper articles, as well as the letters that Élise will send you at certain story milestones. These letters offer further insights into her relationship with Arno.

Intendant’s Study

In the Intendant’s Study ( ), you can order renovations for the mansion and collect income from the Café Théâtre.

■ Interact with the desk in this room to check your Café Théâtre progress, and to order building upgrades. Each renovation leads to visual improvements to the mansion, as well as additional rewards. The principal benefit of all upgrades (with the exception of “Finishing Touches”) is that they unlock Café Théâtre Missions. Completing these five missions leads to massive increases in Arno’s income: from a paltry handful of francs per 20 minutes at the start, to a massive 4,595 francs with each deposit after you finish “Foxy Renard”.

■ You can further enhance the Café Théâtre profits by opening Social Clubs throughout Paris. We discuss this process in greater depth overleaf.

■ Interact with the chest to collect Arno’s profits from the Café and its associated businesses. On the pop-up information box that appears when you are close to it, you will see a timer that indicates how long remains before the next deposit is made.

■ Income is deposited every 20 minutes that you play, but will stop when the chest is full. Make regular visits to the Café Théâtre to pick up Arno’s profits before this happens.

Legacy Room

In the Legacy Room ( ), you have access to outfits worn by legendary Assassins. These are unlocked by completing actions in the main game, in the Companion App, or in Assassin’s Creed Initiates.

The Memento Gallery () displays the mementos you earn for your accomplishments throughout the game.

Club Hall

In the Club Hall ( ), you can join an existing online Club, or create one with your friends. When you join a Club, it becomes easier to play with the other members of your Club. You can unlock new rewards by completing objectives and competing against other Clubs.

Training Room

In the Training Room ( ), you can play assorted tutorials to practice basic Assassin abilities. Completing all of them unlocks a Trophy/Achievement.

Armor Room

You will find the Armor Room underneath the Café Théâtre ( ). To reach it, simply walk down the stairs that run below the mansion’s main stairway. You can unlock this room’s secrets by solving the Nostradamus Enigmas .

Assassin Council

As you go down the stairs leading to the Armor Room, you will notice a large wooden door ( ). This leads to the Assassin Council, offering you a very convenient shortcut.

Regional Cafés: Social Clubs

In addition to the main Café Théâtre on Ile Saint-Louis, each main district in Paris features a Café (also referred to as “Social Club”) that is initially closed (). Each time you renovate one of these Social Clubs (), you gain multiple benefits:

■ Each Café that you purchase increases your Café Théâtre income by a noteworthy sum. You should look to purchase all Social Clubs early in the story.

■ Renovated Cafés give you access to two or three Social Club Missions each. Completing each of these reduces the presence of Extremists in a specific sub-district, while increasing the number of civilian allies that will be on hand to assist Arno in combat. This can lead to a marked reduction in the difficulty of certain missions – particularly those that require a lot of travel between objectives.

■ Each renovated Social Club functions as a Fast Travel destination – a very convenient feature to save time as you explore Paris.

■ You will also receive a revolution song for every Café that you renovate.
