Syndicate Guide Walkthrough The Co-Op Game

Applications

There are twelve different apps available during the co-op game while the campaign game only features three. Each of these apps can be upgraded by spending application tokens and then researching the upgrades.

Backfire

Backfire was one of the earliest applications developed. A basic link between the DART chip and an inanimate object is established and a certain function is executed.

In this case, the link is to a gun used by an enemy and the function is to change the timing of the trigger release, causing a misfire. This deals a moderate amount of damage to the target and knocks enemies back.

Name Effect
Chamber Patch 25% more damage
Auto-Shot 25% more damage
Perforator 3 50% more damage
Backfire V2.0 1 additional target is affected

Battery

This application gives 50 percent power to all applications for all players on the team for all of their applications (with the exception of another Battery app).

As a result, this can help the team recharge their apps and use them more frequently.

C2C

Pulse Based on the original design for the squad heal, C2C Pulse was written to be utilized in situations where there are smaller amounts of threat over a longer period of time.

It utilizes a pulsing power signal with DART link to stimulate cell regeneration for short bursts at a time. It heals anyone within range for 15 percent of their base health per pulse.

Agents in wounded states will get a 15 percent bonus to their required breach for each pulse.

Name Effect
Pulse Duration Patch Heals 15% more per pulse
DART Link Patch Range is increased by 30%
Pulse Frequency Patch Pulse frequency is increased by 25%, duration remains the same
C2C Pulse V2.0 The base value of the heal is given as a direct heal to the team.

Damage Link

This application will link friendly DART chips in parallel.

This short-term increase in computational power allows for optimized bullet trajectory calculations, maximizing the firepower while the link lasts.

As a result, every team member’s damage output is increased.

Name Effect
Link Stabilization Patch
Longer duration
Link Strength Add-on
5% more damage
Link Modulation Upgrade
10% more damage
Damade Link V2.0
Fills DART overlay bar of the entire team

E-Drain

This application started life as a simple energy drain virus. However, software engineers soon figured out a way to use resonant magnetic induction to transfer the drained energy and use it to power self-regeneration subroutines.

Working together with the Caymen Global medical research team, they created an application to stimulate cell regeneration of an Agent using the drained energy of opponents.

This app does damage to an enemy and 50 percent of the damage is converted into health.

Name Effect
E-Drain Mod 1.25
33% more damage done
Efficiency Patch
15% more damage is converted into HP
Power-loss Reduction Add-on
25% more damage is converted into HP
E-Drain V2.0
10% of the damage is converted to HP for the entire team

EMP

The EM Pulse upgrade essentially creates a short-burst electromagnetic pulse that disables most electronic based equipment temporarily. This includes personal cloaking fields, turrets, and explosive munitions.

Opponents, if close enough, can be stunned and backpacks containing electronic equipment can be detonated. This app decloaks specters, detonates backpacks, and stuns enemies.

It shuts down turrets temporarily and can disable both grenades and rockets.

Name Effect
Energy Influx Patch
Stronger pulse, 40% more damage and 2 second duration increase
IEC Add-on
Stronger pulse, 60% more damage and 2 second duration increase
Frequency Modulation
Range is increased by 30%
EMP V2.0
Pulse now works on Liquid and Reactive armor and shuts down the armor

Focus Breach

Aspari began researching into software upgrades for breaching early on. It was clear that any increase in breaching speed would be a clear advantage against Agents of other Syndicates.

Focus Breach in its simplest form uses additional processing power of the DART chip to focus on breaching. Other operations of the chip take a lower priority. As a result, breaching is faster for 5 seconds.

Name Effect
Priority Patch
Lasts 10 seconds
Signal Boost
Speed increase is 10% faster
Multithread Patch
Speed increase is 15% faster
Focus Breach V2.0 Breach speed of team members is increased by 10%.

Focus Target

When this app is used, enemies are highlighted even outside of the DART overlay. In addition, breaches against those targets are 10 percent faster. This app affects the entire team.

Name Effect
Resonance Modifier
Effect lasts longer
Armor Destabilizer
Target takes 10% more damage from all sources
Smart Feedback Hotfix
Target takes 15% more damage from all sources
Focus Target V2.0
Target is slowed by 30%

Reboot

This software upgrade was initially installed without telling the Agents. The fail-safe algorithms will sense an Agent’s imminent expiration and send a high-power electrical charge directly to the adrenal gland.

Malfunctions in the form of activation at random led to voluntary installation and Agent-controlled activation, however. This app allows you to get back on your feet when crawling and start with 50 percent base health.

Name Effect
Endorphin Release
Start with 20% more HP
Endorphin Surge
Start with 30% more HP
Adrenaline Reroute Routine
Start with 50% of all applications filled
Reboot V2.0
Gain shield for 5 seconds

Shielding

Gives the entire team an electromagnetic shield that stops some incoming damage.

Name Effect
Field Strength Patch
Shield blocks 10% more damage
Power Optimization Update
Shield blocks 15% more damage
Energy Efficiency Service Pack
Shield blocks 25% more damage
Shielding V2.0
EMP Pulse (5m range) when shield depleted

Squad Heal

Squad Heal was introduced as a breach application by EuroCorp to foster stronger cohesion within a team of Agents. At least one Agent would be equipped with this application to serve in a supportive role.

Essentially, the user’s DART chip interacts with nearby friendly DART chips and shares part of its own power supply to stimulate cell regeneration. This app heals 50 percent of the health of each member of the team.

Name Effect
Energy Heal
Heals 20% more
Energy Efficiency Patch
Heals 30% more
Muscle Relaxant
Removes and blocks all stun effects for 10 seconds
Squad Heal V2.0
Initialization time reduced by 50%

Virus

The Virus breach application allows a DART to DART-link with an enemy and upload malicious software.

Once the virus is in place, it will disrupt the neural pathways of the target, damaging brain tissue and even short-circuiting any kind of shielding.

Damage continues to be inflicted over time, even through Reactive or Liquid armor.

Name Effect
Aggression Mod
10% mode damage
Runtime Service Pack
Faster ticks (virus works quicker against target)
Dynamic Attack Protocol
15% more damage
Virus V2.0

Hints and Tips from the Testers

  • Using Applications such as Shielding and C2C Pulse will help keep Agents up when crossing killing grounds to turrets, enemy APCs and dropships.
  • When noticing players dropping in health, but not in line of sight to heal, remember to use the Shielding or Squad Heal application to buy them some time.
  • When using the Reboot application it is wise to wait until the area is reasonably clear of enemies. Reboot can help you salvage a mission that looks almost certain to fail.
  • The Backfire application is of great help against tougher enemies (such as reactive and liquid soldiers)—it can give you a few vital seconds of breathing space.
  • The Focus Target application is very useful if you want your team to take down one specific enemy quickly.
  • Virus has a longer range than a regular breach. It also acts through shields of tougher enemies, allowing you to take cover while still dealing damage.
  • The EMP application can come in very handy when rushing a turret position to temporarily disable the turret. It also stuns Riot shield Police units and makes them drop their shields.
  • Focus Breach, particularly when upgraded, is extremely useful when dealing with multiple shielded units.
  • E-Drain is an application that is well suited for the more aggressive player who likes pushing forward. If cut off from heals and support, it can give the player a bit of extra breathing space.
  • *It is of great benefit to have at least one Agent with the Battery application in the team, particularly if it is upgraded. Recharging applications can make the difference in a tough encounter.
