Milestone 19: Burning Tower

Locate the Datacore Vault

When this milestone begins, move forward and drop down into a corridor and turn to the left. Follow the corridor around. There are several dead soldiers here. Pick up weapons and ammo as needed.

Turn to the left near the end of the corridor and climb up a few short flights of stairs. When you can go no farther up the stairs due to fire, move to the exit door.

A battle is ranging on the other side of the door. As soon as you open the door, look to the right and breach a turret to override it. Wait for it to clear out the enemies and then breach the controls just to the right of the door to open the gate.

Ambassador of Peace

Kill enemies of two different syndicates fast enough to receive a rampage energy bonus in order to earn this award.

Advance toward the counter, picking up ammo and weapons left behind. Then head through the door behind the counter. Turn to the left and walk past some civilians. Continue through another door and enter an observation room overlooking a battle taking place out in a hangar area.

Pick up a business card on the side of the room opposite the window and add it to your collection.

Drop down through a hole in the floor and walk forward until you see a hatch you can open. Press the action button repeatedly to open the hatch so you can get into the fight.

As you emerge onto a platform, start by clearing off the enemies on the platform before they turn on you.

Tip

If you have a gauss rifle, or find one on the ground, save it for using against armored soldiers. Once you breach their armor, you can take cover, lock on to the soldier, and fire at them from behind cover. Use another weapon for the other enemies.

Next, breach the turrets hanging from the ceiling to override them and turn them against your enemies.

Once the hangar is clear, Cayman Global dropships bring in more enemies, including a couple of liquid soldiers escorted by a jammer soldiers. Kill the jammers and then breach the liquid soldiers’ armor to crystallize it so you can kill them.

Tip

The key to this battle is using your apps to attack enemies. Even if using Suicide kills only one enemy, it can eliminate a threat hiding behind cover.

Once a wave of enemies is defeated, move down from the platform to collect ammo or swap out weapons. Do this quickly since more waves are on their way.

An electro soldier leads another wave from a doorway opposite the hangar opening. Take cover and use Persuade on one of the other soldiers, then short-circuit the electro soldier’s armor and fire away. Don’t forget to use grenades you can pick up after you’ve deactivated them. Frag grenades can give you some extra firepower for inflicting a lot of damage on the armored soldiers.

The next wave includes another electro soldier as well as a UAV drone. Get behind some cover and breach the enemies’ armor before opening fire.

There are racks of TAR-39s at a few locations around the area. Therefore, you can always stock up on ammo at these racks if you are carrying the TAR-39—including grenades for this weapon’s launcher.

As soon as one wave is defeated, another appears. Use the DART overlay to help locate where the enemies are and get a count of how many you face as well as the types of threats. Don’t forget to use the Backfire app on enemies with riot shields so you can deliver killing shots.

The next few waves emerge from the elevators across the hangar from the observation window. If you want to go on the offensive, be waiting for them with a grenade and launch or throw one into the elevator as soon as the doors open.

The last wave consists of a couple UAV drones. Shoot them down and then get ready to leave the hangar area.

Lily has opened an elevator for you. Enter it and take it all the way up toward the Spire.

When the elevator reaches its destination, you find yourself in another engagement. Take out the enemies you see in front of you, then be ready to take on their enemies from the other syndicate.

As you advance forward, you see that the escalators you need to use to continue on your route to the Spire are blocked due to a security lockdown. Therefore, follow the corridor to the right and clear several enemies from a room with several computer servers.

Once the enemies have been neutralized, locate the EuroCorp logo by the entrance to this area. Activate the DART overlay to see the hidden propaganda.

Make your way up the stairs at the back of the computer terminal area and head to the left. Continue down some stairs into a small room. Download some intel from the terminal at the far end. Exit this area and then walk across the back of the terminal area. Go through a door on the right side to enter a small passageway. Breach a door in there to override the system, then enter a computer room.

Locate a terminal in the computer room and activate the controls to remove the barriers to the escalators. Then transfer data from a couple of computers to your chip.

New Corporation Profile

I.I.A: ASER-TELLINGER

/ ORGANIZATION PROFILE

Name: Aser-Tellinger Industries
Affiliation: Cayman Global
Activity: Weapon manufacturer

INTEL FEED

Aser-Tellinger was the main contractor for the Canadian military forces from 1990 to 2038. They were contracted by the state Governors for east-coast North America, during the increasing conflict between EuroCorp and US Central Intelligence.

As the US Government was disbanded in 2039, Aser-Tellinger merged with the remaining subsidiaries of US Central Intelligence and the freedom forces of Quebec, becoming the weapons branch of the I.I.A. Syndicate.

Turning into the largest army for hire in the world, Aser-Tellinger’s work became to arm and equip the infantry and light-mechanized units of I.I.A, focusing on mobile and adaptable armament.

For economic growth, models already in production were licensed to external partners, including their former enemies EuroCorp.

New Corporation Profile

EUROCORP: NRT SYSTEMS AG

/ ORGANIZATION PROFILE

Name: NRT Systems AG
Affiliation: EuroCorp
Activity: Military Defense Research

INTEL FEED

NRT-Bau AG was originally a European housing contractor, formed in 2008. During the unrest in Europe from 2010 to the forming of EuroCorp in 2017, the company consolidated its product portfolio and instead focused on defensive architecture.

EuroCorp’s Research Division courted NRT and in 2021 this resulted in a merger, where both parties signed a mutual agreement contract, and renaming the company to NRT Systems. EuroCorp opened up the door to military research and ground-breaking results in material construction allowing NRT to grow into a worldwide competitor.

In 2051, NRT engineers and construction workers were contracted to design and produce the Manhattan riot wall in less than six months, separating New York’s unchipped inhabitants from the main populace.

From 2062, NRT Systems expanded their product portfolio with personnel armor and portable defense systems, arming EuroCorp’s local enforcers and developing the fashionable Agent Coat body armor.

Now jump down through the broken window and walk up the escalators to get to the next floor. At the top, follow the corridor around to the right.

More security barriers block your way. To get past these, you need to turn to the right and make your way to the end of the corridor. There are several enemies at the other end, so engage them as you advance.

There is a UAV drone along with the enemies. However, this one does not fire at you. Instead, breach it to override the control link and slave it to your chip. It then follows you and engages all hostiles it encounters.

Move through a break in the barrier and into another corridor that runs in between offices. Eliminate any enemies you come across as you advance. Watch out for enemies that drop in behind you as well as others up on higher walkways that snipe down on you. The drone’s green targeting laser can help you detect enemies you may not notice until they start firing at you.

When you get near the end of the corridor, an electro soldier drops down. Quickly short-circuit his armor and take cover before opening fire. The drone helps you defeat this soldier along with the other enemies that try to stop you.

Climb the stairs to the next level. At the top of the stairs, check out the EuroCorp logo to see a hidden message.

EC: CORRECTION

”REPORT TO AGENT CORRECTION CENTER.”

More enemies are on the upper level. There is not a lot of cover by the stairs, so use the Backfire app and rush them so you can get to the main walkway which leads to the left and find some better cover.

You must now advance to the end of this walkway. There are lots of enemies trying to prevent you from getting to the Spire. Watch for snipers on the upper levels. Try to pick them off from a distance. The Suicide app can be a good way to eliminate a sniper who is tough to get due to his cover.

A group of enemies emerges from an elevator off to your left as you walk past. As you start to engage them, they duck back into the elevator and shut the door, waiting for you to turn your attention to other enemies. Get a grenade ready and launch it as soon as the door opens. Another option is to use the Persuade or Suicide app on one of these enemies to neutralize all of them.

Continue moving toward the stairs at the end of the corridor. Before you walk up the stairs, pick up a business card on the floor below the stairs. This is the last business card in the campaign game and if you picked up all the rest, you now have the complete collection.

There’s been a lot of buzz about Wulf Western Incorporated, an up-and-coming Syndicate that’s been making some ripples on the European markets. Some are saying that if their management upholds their current strategic course, they’ll be in a position to challenge the major Syndicates in certain key markets.

My analysis of this is that it is nothing but bunk. I’ve been in this business for many years, and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen investors put their money into upstart Syndicates only to lose it all when the house of cards comes crumbling down. Mark my words—within two years, what remains of Wulf Western’s holdings will have been divided up between EuroCorp, Aspari and Cayman Global.

Climb to the top of the stairs and pick up some ammo for your TAR-39, or get one of these weapons if you do not already have one. Then make your way toward the datacore vault.

As you approach the door to the vault, a wave of enemies emerge. Deal with the two UAV drones first and take cover.

Then short-circuit the armor of the electro soldier. Keep your distance and fire away at this enemy until he is dead and then eliminate any remaining hostiles. After the fight, go back and stock up on more ammo from the weapon rack.

To open the datacore vault, you must breach the two controls at almost the same time. Since this is impossible under normal circumstances, activate the DART overlay to slow down time so you can quickly breach the control on the left of the door and then the one on the right in rapid succession. Once the door is open, enter the vault to complete this milestone.
