Milestone 3: Aspari Extraction

Reach the Commercial District

After sliding down the elevator shaft for several floors, you come to a stop. Look straight ahead and back up a bit. Then sprint and jump across a gap to get to a platform on the other side.

Hop up onto a couple of pipes and then crouch down. Walk along the pipes until you get to a walkway on the other side. Then step down and head to the left.

The elevator has been shut down by security. However, you can breach it and override the command and bring it back online. Wait for the elevator to arrive at your floor and then, when the doors open, walk right through it to the walkway on the other side.

After moving through the elevator, look up at the Aspari logo on the wall directly ahead. Activate your DART overlay to see the hidden propaganda. Then open the security hatch on the floor by pressing the action button. Once it is open, drop down to the level below.

New Propaganda Translated

ASPARI: NO LIFE

“THERE IS NO LIFE WITHOUT US.”

—Aspari

When you land on the next level, crouch down and turn to face the center of the area. Enemies begin to rappel down from above. Activate the DART overlay to locate them easier and take them out.

Tip

The gauss gun works well in this area since you can target enemies and stay behind cover to fire. However, when your ammo gets low, switch to the TAR-39, which is also quite effective.

Breach the elevator again to bring it down to your level, then locate more enemies who are firing at you from a lower level.

Move through the elevator again and along the walkway to another security hatch in the floor. Before opening it and dropping down, look for more enemies and neutralize them all.

As soon as you drop to a lower level, more enemies rappel down. Since they are close together, use the Backfire app to disrupt their weapons and make them vulnerable to your fire.

Now breach the elevator again to send it down so that it will be out of your way. Then open a security hatch in the wall, crouch down, and crawl inside.

You have to jump from one catwalk to another across the elevator shaft. Sprint toward the edge and then jump to reach the other side.

Drop down to a small room below and make sure your weapons are loaded and your DART overlay is charged.

Approach the door to open it and an enemy with a riot shield comes at you. Use the Backfire app to make him lower his shield and then shoot him to get rid of that threat.

Stay in the room until your DART overlay recharges, then move out and take cover to the left.

There are a few UAV drones flying above you. Breach them to overload their chips, then shoot them down. Next kill any remaining enemies in the area.

Breach the elevator directly ahead of you to bring it to your level, then walk through it. Continue through a red-lit enclosure and then drop down to a lower catwalk.

Now breach the elevator again to bring it down to your level. Move back along the walkway and through the elevator again. Agent Merit contacts you at this time and gives you a new objective.

Meet Merit at the Train Station

Breach the first elevator to bring it down to your level. Then, after walking through it, pick up a sniper rifle dropped by one of the enemies. You have to swap it out with one of your other weapons. It is usually a good idea to keep the TAR-39.

KUSANAGI SNIPER

/ PRODUCT SUMMARY

Model: Kusanagi HSR-6
Manufacturer: Takashi Corp. (license owner, Tao)
Projectile: 7.52 mm (single), 4-round clip
Weight: 20.9 lb (9.5 kg)

TACTICAL SUMMARY

Primary Fire: Semi-automatic primary mode with ClearAim® scope
Secondary Fire: Semi-automatic secondary mode, with disabled scope for close range combat
Additional: Primary and Secondary fire modes both use an extended version of the overpressurized projectile system, breaking through low-grade covers

INTEL FEED

Following the ACR-10’s excellent reception, the Takashi Corporation introduced the HSR-6 to high expectations. Restricted to semi-automatic mode, with a new propulsion extension system and designed with a sleek, streamlined refit, this long-range repurposing seemed an excellent development.

The assassination of the French Prime Minister also gave the weapon notoriety, followed by public outcries against arms development and unprecedented premiere firearm sales.

/ end of entry

Follow the walkway around to a door that opens as you approach. Continue into a passage with steam pipes. Crouch down to avoid being burned by a jet of steam as you walk under it. Keep moving to a door marked with an exit sign.

As you walk through the door, activate your DART overlay and turn to the left. There are lots of civilians in this area as well as some enemies. The overlay helps you determine which is a threat so that you can fire before they start shooting at you.

Walk through the lounge area to the far end, then enter an elevator on the right side and ride it down to the main floor of the night club.

As the elevator descends, enemies rush out into the night club. Use the DART overlay to help locate them and start shooting while finding some cover for protection. Some enemies throw grenades, so breach them and pick them up so you can use them. Don’t forget that the TAR-39 has a grenade launcher built in as well.

The enemies on an upper walkway can be tough to hit since they like to take cover behind a low wall and snipe at you. Therefore, use your newly acquired Kusanagi sniper rifle to take them out. Its rounds can penetrate the low wall and kill the enemy on the other side.

Move through the night club to get to the door at the far end with the objective marker on it. Be sure to pick up ammo from the dead enemies. As you approach, several enemies rush through the door and attack.

Quickly activate the DART overlay to give yourself some extra time to react and use the Backfire app on the one of the two with the riot shields. You can also use the Suicide app here since it will kill more than one enemy, or fire a grenade from your TAR-39.

Once it is clear, go through the door where the enemies appeared and turn to the left to collect the only business card in this level.

/ PROFILE ENTRY

Name: Guo Jinhui
Age: 37
Position: Unemployed
Affiliation: Aspari
Clearance: Unknown

LOGGED ENTRY

/ Aspari_security.interrogation.record: ID45673

Subject believed some kind of malfunction in his chip made his “latent psychic powers” surface, enabling him to see apparitions of the deceased and various other supernatural entities.

He was apparently something of a local celebrity in the lower sections of Aspari South Central where he was often consulted as an unsanctioned “oracle” under the stage name “Guo—The Ghost Conduit.”

Upon closer examination his chip was indeed found to be suffering from a unique manufacturing flaw, the effects of which have yet to be fully determined. The subsequent interview with the subject gleaned few answers, as it had to be prematurely terminated.

One of the interrogators suffered severe emotional distress when the subject displayed intimate knowledge of his deceased mother, including her maiden name and food preferences, and held a conversation at length with what he claimed was her “spectral entity.” Several security officers were forced to intervene in the ensuing commotion, and the interview has been scheduled to be resumed at a later date when the subject’s medical condition permits.

/ end of entry

Once you have the business card, head up a flight of stairs and then turn to the left. Continue through some double doors to exit the night club.

You find yourself in a large mall area. Again there are lots of civilians as well as enemies. Use the DART overlay to help distinguish between the two. Take your time in this area. Find some cover and begin picking off one enemy at a time.

Watch for the red targeting lasers of enemy snipers, who are usually positioned on upper levels overlooking your location. Take them out with your own sniper rifle.

After clearing out all of the enemies in this area, walk toward the stairs leading down to the level below. However, before descending, look through the glass doors by the stairs to see an Aspari logo. Activate your DART overlay to see the hidden propaganda message.

New Propaganda Translated

ASPARI: STICKS OUT

”THE STAKE THAT STICKS OUT GETS HAMMERED DOWN.”

—Aspari

Collect ammo and then head down the stairs. There may be some enemies remaining down there, so be ready to engage them and secure this level as well.

Look for more glass doors down on the lower level with an Aspari logo on the wall behind them. Use the DART overlay to see the propaganda.

New Propaganda Translated

ASPARI: CLEAR CONSCIENCE

“A CLEAR CONSCIENCE NEVER FEARS AN AGENT.”

—Aspari

Make your way to the far side of the lower level of the mall area and follow a passageway around to the left to complete this milestone.
