Knife combat has evolved in Battlefield 4 with the introduction of counters and more elaborate melee animations. But the core mechanics remain the same. For best results, always sneak up on your opponent from behind, taking them by surprise. When knifing from behind, your opponent has no opportunity to counter, allowing you to score the kill and secure their dog tags. Or if you like living on the edge, rush directly toward your opponent and attempt a frontal melee attack. Frontal knife attacks give your opponent the opportunity to counter, potentially leading to the loss of your own dog tags.
