Weapons

The Naval Strike expansion adds five new weapons, but these weapons aren’t available immediately. To unlock each new weapon you must complete an assignment, requiring you to fulfill a set of specific tasks. Upon the completion of an assignment, a new weapon is unlocked. Like the weapons included with Battlefield 4, every weapon has its own unlock progression, allowing you to equip new accessories such as scopes and rail attachments. No two weapons are exactly the same, so get to know them and select ones that best reflect your style of play.

AR160 Assault Rifle

• Get twenty headshots with assault rifles

This Italian-designed assault rifle was originally developed for the Italian Army, but is currently being tested by other armed forces and police agencies around the world. The weapon benefits from lightweight polymer materials and ambidexterous features, including left and right side ejection ports.

Firing the armor-piercing 9x21mm round, the SR-2 was developed for Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) in the mid-1990s. Unlike many PDWs, the SR-2 utilizes a gas-operated rotating bolt, similar to an assault rifle. But the weapon maintains a sleek, compact design complete with a hand guard-mounted vertical foregrip for greater control and maneuverability during close-quarter engagements.

The AWS light machine gun was designed as a lighter, more compact alternative to bulkier squad automatic weapons such as the M249 and MG4. The weapon borrows heavily from the M16 assault rifle platform but is fitted with a high-capacity 100-round drum magazine, allowing for sustained automatic bursts.

The SR338 is a semi-automatic sniper rifle with performance characteristics similar to a DMR. Firing the reliable and accurate .338 Lapua Magnum round, the SR338 lacks the shot-for-shot stopping power of its bolt-action cousins. But it makes up for it in rate of fire, allowing for quick and accurate follow-up shots.

• Get ten kills with Impact Grenades

This unique Italian-designed revolver fires rounds from the lower chamber of the cylinder, directing most recoil backward, into the operator’s wrist. This helps mitigate muzzle climb, allowing the revolver to settle for quicker follow-up shots. But the SW40 lacks the accuracy of the other pistols, making it best suited for close-quarter engagements.
