Designated Marksman Rifles (DMRs)

The new DMRs, available to all classes, bridge the gap between assault rifles and sniper rifles, offering impressive stopping power while maintaining respectable rates of fire and reload times. These semi-automatic rifles are best deployed when engaging targets at intermediate to long ranges. Their size makes them somewhat cumbersome when operating in close quarters, so consider switching to a sidearm when entering structures and other confined spaces.

Fundamentals

• The DMRs are available to all classes, giving all soldiers some serious firepower.
• DMRs inflict optimal damage withing 70 meters, but are accurate well beyond 100 meters.
• A 4x Optic supplemented by canted ironsights gives your DMR the ability to engage targets at all ranges.
• Due to their length, DMRs are a bit too cumbersome for close-quarter engagements; you can’t peek around corners.
• Although slow firing, it only takes 2-3 hits to drop an opponent with a DMR.

RFB

The Rifle Forward-Ejection Bullpup (RFB) is a modern, composite-constructed DMR. Given its impressive stopping power, the RFB is surprisingly maneuverable in confined spaces thanks to its bullpup configuration. But it also performs admirably at intermediate range, particularly when equipped with the ACOG (4X) or M145 (3.4X) optics.

Essentially an M16 chambered for the heavy 7.62mm NATO round, the Mk 11 MOD 0 features a longer, heavier, free-floating barrel and enhanced rail system for applying multiple attachments. Everything about the Mk 11 MOD 0 is designed to enhance accuracy and provide a squad long-range, accurate, semi-automatic fire.

SKS

Millions of SKS rifles were produced originally for the Soviet Army in 1945 and in China as the Type 56. The SKS is a popular rifle with civilian shooters, and can still be found in a number of arsenals around the world. A number of aftermarket upgrades are available for the SKS; this model is equipped with a synthetic stock and detachable 20-round magazine.

The Russian SVD-12 is a modern update of the legendary Dragunov sniper rifle, originally developed in the 1960s. Gone is the wooden stock, in favor of a lighter, composite stock with an integrated rail system. But the rifle still retains its hard-hitting reputation, firing the 7.62x54mm R round, resulting in impressive stopping power and long-range performance.

The Chinese QBU-88 entered service in 1997 as the People’s Liberation Army’s designated marksman rifle. It is a relatively compact DMR, utilizing a bullpup configuration and chambered to accommodate the heavy DAP-87 round. The weapon is most effective at intermediate ranges, particularly when equipped with the JFM-4 (4X) scope.

The M39 Enhanced Marksman Rifle (EMR) is a highly modernized M14 designed to be utilized by USMC-designated marksmen. Issued with match-grade 7.62mm NATO long-range ammunition, the M39 is significantly lighter and more accurate than the original M14. The M39 is limited to semi-automatic fire, but supports a number of accessories.

ACE 53 SV

The ACE 53 SV features the same basic appearance and functionality as other firearms in the ACE line. However, this DMR is equipped with a longer barrel and fires heavy 7.62mm NATO rounds, resulting in greater stopping power and accuracy at range. The end result is a well-balanced DMR with somewhat excessive recoil.

SCAR-H SV

Built on the versatile SCAR platform, the SCAR-H SV is not much different than the SCAR-H assault rifle, with both rifles firing the hard-hitting 7.62mmm NATO round. However, the SCAR-H SV features a longer barrel offering increased muzzle velocity, translating into greater effective range and stopping power.
