Offensive Scouting Report

• While three QBs split snaps last season, there is only one player who should take them this season. Invest all of your resources into making rookie QB Marcus Mariota the face of the franchise. His unique talent will allow you to run a unique offensive scheme.
• Bishop Sankey turned in a decent rookie campaign at HB last season, and hopefully the new QB and offensive system will allow him to continue to improve. Remember that he is an elusive-style back with some hands despite his solid strength.
• Hakeem Nicks and Justin Hunter are good physical receivers, but give the snaps to Green-Beckham and see what he can become. Use Kendall Wright and Harry Douglas as your best targets over the middle, and look to pick up yards after the catch.

Defensive Scouting Report

• Derrick Morgan rushing off the edge as an LB should be a nice change of pace for the defense. Use his power moves and acceleration to get after the QB. Pairing him with LE Ropati Pitoitua will protect him in the run game, and they will make a great combo.
• Bringing in veteran LB Brian Orakpo was a great move. He is the perfect fit for the Titans’ defensive scheme. Keep him together with Jurrell Casey to give extra support in the run game. Don’t give up on your young MLBs, because their speed is excellent.
• The Titans’ secondary is average, so try to draft a safety who can allow your defense to take more chances. CB Jason McCourty is still the leader and has solid speed. He can even get in on the run game and make some tackles.

Key Players

• Walker isn’t the biggest or fastest target, but he can consistently find holes in the defense.
• Walker is one of the best run blockers in the game at the TE spot.

• Casey doesn’t have the biggest frame on the team, but he is still extremely strong against the run and pass.
• Slide Casey inside on passing situations to keep him on the field.

• Mariota’s 90 Acceleration rating is important for roll-outs and the read option.
• He will need to work on his deep accuracy to keep the defense away from the line of scrimmage.

• Green-Beckham has the size to become a TD-scoring machine at the next level.
• Continue to develop his route running to turn him into a threat all over the field.

Setup/Reads:

• Against zone coverage, wait for the corner route to clear the flat zone and then throw a high pass.
• Against man-to-man coverage target the in route on the back side or wait for the slot to cut back outside.
• Against the blitz either leak the ball to the HB or block him and take a shot downfield.

Advanced Setup:

• Flat or wheel the HB.
• Slant the slot WR (optional).

Setup:

• If you don’t feel like you have a great matchup on the outside, consider adding an extra defender on a man assignment.
• Feel free to drop one of the edge blitzers into a flat zone, especially towards the open side of the field.
• Some teams that lack a power run game won’t be able to beat this as a run defense. If so, stay in it.
