Finding a great LB who can control the middle of the defense or rush off the edge is imperative to building a great defense. Make sure to determine if you have a 3-4 or 4-3 defense, because it will impact the number and type of players you need. OLBs are some of the most versatile players in the game because they can rush the passer, drop into coverage, or even drop down to defensive end. You can never have enough studs at the LB position in Madden NFL 16.
Terrell Suggs (ROLB)
Style: Pass Rush
Suggs is not only capable of rushing the passer and delivering big hits, he also does a great job in the run game. Allow him to play the 3-4 OLB positions, and any edge runs should get bottled up before they get outside.
Bobby Wagner (MLB)
Style: Man Defense
Wagner is one of the fastest LBs in Ultimate Team, and he can unleash devastating hits that force turnovers. Wagner is the perfect player in a 4-3 defense to mix in man coverage and slow down routes to the TE.
Luke Kuechly (MLB)
Style: Zone Defense
Kuechly is one of the smartest defenders in MUT and is perfect for zone coverage. Leave him in a hook zone over the middle and allow his play recognition skill to do the work. He is a sure tackler and will lock down anything that comes through his area.
Justin Houston (LOLB)
Style: Pass Rush
Houston is built to rush the passer from the 3-4 defense. However, he is so talented and strong that even a 4-3 defense could use him at defensive end to get pressure. No matter what defense you like to play, unleashing him at the QB is a smart idea.
Von Miller (LOLB)
Style: Run Stuff
Miller has excellent pass-rushing moves to go along with his speed and hit power. Miller is the best because he can drop into coverage or rush the passer and the offense can’t key on him! Miller is so excellent that either a 3-4 or 4-3 defense will work for him.
