Tight ends in Madden NFL 16 are some of the biggest and fastest players in the game. Use them to give your scheme a new level of options and deception. Will you keep your TE in to block or split him out wide in the red zone to use his size advantage? By moving these stars all over your formations, you can truly attack the defense anywhere.
Julius Thomas
Style: Long Pass
Thomas is an excellent option in the red zone because of his size. His ability to out-jump defenders gives him a big advantage. Thomas should get separation from most defenders unless you split him out wide against a great press corner.
Greg Olsen
Style: Short Pass
Olsen is one of the best options in the game for players who can’t grab Rob Gronkowski. Olsen can block and run every route that his peers can. He will also hang onto passes in traffic and has the size to steal even a bad throw from the QB away from the defense.
Jason Witten
Style: Speed Run
Witten is a perfect option for players who like to use their TEs as reliable options on third down. Witten won’t burn past too many defenders, but his ability to hang onto passes is extremely valuable for certain offenses. He has a big frame and can shield defenders away, especially on low throws.
Jimmy Graham
Style: Ground and Pound
Graham is hands down the biggest and best receiving option in Ultimate Team, and he will really benefit from the offense’s ability to throw high-point passes. Graham can line up anywhere in a formation and win a matchup against any type of defender. Make sure to use aggressive catches to get big over the defense!
Rob Gronkowski
Style: Long Pass
Gronk is the best TE in Ultimate Team because he can simply do it all. He is a beast when it comes to run blocking but can also run crisp routes even with his incredible size. He has the speed to attack the seam and the size to pull aggressive catches down over defenders.
