General Strategy
A QB without time to throw the ball becomes just an average player to an offense. This is the power of a great pass-rushing defense that doesn’t give the offense any time to let their routes develop. If you can simply get pressure from your front four linemen without sending blitzes too often, you will force your opponents to change their entire game plan. Pass-rushing players are extremely versatile in Madden Ultimate Team and one of the best ways to get the most value for your coins.

Strengths
- It will take a great offensive line (which is rare early in the season) to stop a great pass rush.
- If the offense has to keep an extra HB or TE in to block, you have won the battle.
- In Madden NFL 16, the QB’s accuracy will suffer when under pressure, and that can lead to turnovers for the defense.
Weaknesses
- A run-heavy offense may be tough in the first half of a game, but most players will abandon it if you commit to stopping it early.
- Switch to man coverage if the offense is targeting HBs out of the backfield and you can’t slow them down.
- Consider calling press coverage to slow down WRs at the line if the offense is passing the ball too quickly.
