While battling the evil goons who kidnapped Officer Frank Honey, Chase overhead one of them use the name “Chan.” Frank has heard of this person—he’s a suspected gang leader who’s relatively new to LEGO City. Chase believes that Chan must have some connection to Rex Fury, and after a bit of pressure from Mayor Gleeson, Chief Dunby is finally forced to give McCain his blessing to go undercover and infiltrate Chan’s gang.
City Exploration
Objective: Travel to Chan’s Scrapyard
Since you’re going deep undercover, Ellie provides you with some new duds: the Chase McCain (Undercover) disguise! You retain all of Chase’s police officer abilities (grapple gun, etc.) while wearing this new outfit, and as a bonus, enemies won’t recognize you as a cop.
Hop into a vehicle and follow the green studs to locate a scrapyard owned by Chan. After you arrive, Ellie calls and informs you that she’s updated your communicator with a new Audio Scan mode. Now you can listen in on distant conversations!
Objective: Eavesdrop on Chan’s Gang
Time to try out your new toy. Cross the street and then climb a blue drainpipe to reach a nearby roof.
Cross a wooden footbridge and grapple up to a higher roof.
Carefully tiptoe across the tightrope to reach another building’s roof.
The tightrope leads to a scan spot. Press 
to try out your new Audio Scan mode.
Hold the Wii U GamePad up to your TV screen and search for persons of interest, just like you did with Criminal Scan mode. Lock on to someone to listen to their conversation. Some won’t pertain to Chan’s gang, but one of them will!
Objective: Find Bucky Butler
Your eavesdropping proves fruitful: A hopeful recruit named Bucky Butler is apparently late for a meeting with Chan’s gang. If you can intercept and impersonate Bucky, you might be able to join the gang in his place!
Find some wheels and motor toward your next destination—the museum. Park and then move to the nearby scan spot to use Audio Scan mode again.
Scan the museum until you overhear Bucky’s conversation. The crook spots Chase when he exits the museum, then flees. Hurry after him!
Objective: Arrest Bucky Butler
Bucky hops into a car and speeds off. Chase commandeers a vehicle and hurries after Bucky in hot pursuit. Chase Bucky through the city, using turbos to catch up.
Ram into Bucky’s vehicle four times to destroy it, then chase the thief on foot. Trip Bucky and then slap on the cuffs. Nice work! Now you can impersonate Bucky and infiltrate Chan’s gang.
Objective: Go to Chan’s Limo Company
Bucky was set to meet a contact at Chan’s limo company, so that’s where you need to go. Travel there, then speak with the old man who awaits you. The old man is named Old Quiang, and he gives you instructions to pick up the famous millionaire Forrest Blackwell, who awaits you at Blackwell Tower in King’s Court.
Objective: Pick up Forrest Blackwell
Now you’re getting somewhere! Drive the limo to Blackwell Tower, and pick up Mr. Blackwell. The famous millionaire is swamped by paparazzi but manages to fight his way into the limo.
Objective: Bring Mr. Blackwell to Gillespie Theater
Well done! Now you’ve just got to bring Mr. Blackwell to the Gillespie Theater. Unfortunately, the paparazzi don’t give up easily and quickly pursue you. Mr. Blackwell despises the paparazzi, so you’ll need to give them the slip before you can deliver him to the theater.
Pull up to the theater after losing the paparazzi, and drop off Mr. Blackwell. The millionaire is thankful for your efforts and tells you not to wait—he has arranged for other means of getting home.
Objective: Meet Chan Near the Scrapyard
Old Quiang calls shortly after you drop off Mr. Blackwell, pleased with your work. He invites you to meet Master Chan in an alley near his scrapyard. This could be your big break! Hurry there without delay.
Exit your vehicle and enter the alley to meet with Chan. The sinister villain hints that he may have a job for you and hands you a list of instructions. Great, more errands to run!
Objective: Retrieve the Car
Chan’s note instructs you to steal a car from his rivals while they’re busy having a party. Sounds fun! Speed over to Paradise Sands, where the party is going down.
The car is visible inside a garage, but a pair of bodyguards have it locked down tight. You’ll need to create a distraction or two to get rid of the toughs.
Poolside Barbecue
Head to the pool behind the garage to find a chef in distress. His barbecue is broken, and he needs help repairing it. Smash the remains of the barbecue, along with the nearby patio furniture, to discover some bricks. Build these into a new barbecue for the chef.
The chef is thrilled to have his barbecue back—now he just needs something to cook on it. Run around the pool and find a box of chicken drumsticks beneath a blue and white striped stand. Pick up the drumsticks and carry them back to the chef.
Place the drumsticks on the green pad near the barbecue, then place the drumsticks on the grill. The aroma sends one of the bodyguards into a frenzy, causing him to leave his station. One more guard to go!
Party Tunes
Circle around the pool to find a DJ in despair. Use the bouncing bricks near the DJ to rebuild his broken turntable.
Nice work! Now you just need to find a record to spin. Approach the nearby magician, who has just made an innocent bystander vanish. Speak with the magician, and he’ll pull a record out of his hat. Fair enough!
Place the record on the turntable, then start scratching. To scratch the record in time with the beat, simply press the appropriate direction on 
when the arrow icons pass through the circle. Keep it up until the party starts bumping!
The remaining bodyguard can’t help but be moved by the rhythm, and leaves his post to join the party. Great job! Now you can break in and steal the car for Chan.
Grand Theft LEGO
With both bodyguards out of the picture, return to the front of the garage and use the crowbar to break in. Before you can steal Chan’s wheels, a gang of costumed goons storms out of the building, intent on picking a fight!
Beat up all of the thugs, then break into the garage and steal the car. Now you just need to make your escape!
Race through the city streets in your stolen vehicle, heading for Chan’s scrapyard. The police don’t know you’re actually a cop and will try to stop you—don’t let them! Use your turbos to stay ahead of the police as you motor toward the scrapyard.
Objective: Investigate the Alarm
Chan calls after you successfully deliver the car to his scrapyard. It seems an alarm has been triggered at Chan’s limo company—better hurry over there and see what’s up!
Sure enough, Chase spots a masked intruder rifling through Chan’s cabinets. But before our hero can make an arrest, the intruder flees to the streets!
Objective: Pursue the Intruder
You’ve got to catch the mysterious intruder! Chase the intruder around the building, and jump up the handholds on the vertical “limo” sign.
Hurry across the limo company’s roof, vaulting an obstacle on your way to some scaffolding. Climb onto the scaffolding and pursue the intruder to the right.
Wall-jump to a higher stretch of scaffolding, then run back to the left. Flip across a flagpole and slide down a tightrope to reach another building.
After landing from the tightrope slide, climb a ladder and sprint up the wooden ramp on the left. (Don’t climb the drainpipe around to the right.) Vault an obstacle, then make a daring leap over to the building on the left.
This is quite a chase! Run around the building’s metal balcony, then climb another ladder. Scale a blue and white wall to reach the building’s roof.
Cross the roof and vault the far wall to reach a catapult pad. Use the pad to bound over to another building.
After you land, use a wall runway to cross the wide gap to the right. The intruder then vanishes into a building, locking the door behind him. No fair!
You can’t let the intruder get away! Climb up to the roof by jumping between the narrow walls near the door through which the intruder fled. Slide down a tightrope to reach the roof of another building.
At last, Chase manages to catch up to the intruder, who turns out to be...Natalia! She thought Chase was one of Chan’s men and admits that she was trying to find out what might have happened to her father, who was recently kidnapped. Things just keep getting worse!
