It’s his very first day back in LEGO City, and Chase McCain has already managed to apprehend a trio of bank robbers. This hasn’t brought our hero any closer to Rex Fury, but it has proven that Chase hasn’t lost his crime-fighting skills! But before Chase can put those skills to good use again, he gets a call from Chief Dunby, who orders Chase to organize a roadblock.
City Exploration
Objective: Go to the Roadblock
Commandeer a vehicle and follow the green studs to reach the nearby Auburn Bay Bridge. Chase arrives just in time to organize a roadblock—and to see his former sweetheart, Natalia, speed by in a sports car!
Objective: Build a Call-in Point
After an emotional chat with Natalia, Chase receives new orders. Head down the hill to reach a gas station, and move into the objective beacon to advance the plot.
The gas station’s owner needs help: His station’s pumps have all broken! Fix all four of the broken pumps by approaching them and holding
to build their bouncing LEGO bricks.
After you repair all four pumps, the owner gladly hands Chase a rare superbrick. These special goodies give you many more bricks than you’d receive just by smashing up random LEGO objects and are vital when you need lots of bricks to build something—like the nearby call-in point!
Collect the superbrick, then use the nearby scan spot to follow some footprints over to a bin that contains another superbrick. This should give you plenty of bricks to build the call-in point (you need 8,000 bricks).
Move onto the large superbuild pad near the gas station—this is where you can build the call-in point. Press
to spend 8,000 bricks and build the call-in point. Now you can use this station to request any of the vehicles that you’ve unlocked!
Now that you’ve built the call-in point, use it to request a new vehicle. Right now, the only one you can call for is the Squaddie. Use your GamePad to select the Squaddie, and it will be instantly delivered to the call-in point. Cool!
Objective: Get the Grapple Gun
You receive new orders after your Squaddie arrives: Robbers have barricaded themselves atop some tall buildings, but you need a special tool to reach them. Hop into the Squaddie and motor off to Sheriff Huckleberry’s office. It’s a bit of a drive, so don’t hesitate to use those turbos!
Sheriff Huckleberry runs a smaller police station on the outskirts of town. He hands Chase a shiny new grapple gun, which is sure to come in handy!
Objective: Go to Jenny’s Burger Bar
Armed with the grapple gun, Chase is ready to go after those robbers. Return to your Squaddie and head to Jenny’s Burger Bar—the robbers are hiding on a nearby rooftop.
The burger-shaped roof of Jenny’s Burger Bar makes a perfect spot to scan for the robbers. Exit your vehicle and use your newfound grapple gun to climb to the Burger Bar’s roof. Simply press
to latch on to the grapple point above the drive-through and zip upward.
Next, grapple the ladder above the drive-through and then move backward to pull it down. Now you can climb even higher!
Stand on the scan spot you find atop Jenny’s Burger Bar, and use your GamePad to scan the two tall buildings across the street. Keep searching until you locate the robbers atop the building on the right.
Objective: Get to the LEGO City TV Building
You’ve found the robbers—now you just need to apprehend them. Drop from the Burger Bar and cross the street, then use the left building’s grapple point to begin your ascent.
Use the grapple gun three times to climb up to an objective beacon. Step into the beacon to begin your rooftop pursuit.

LEGO City Hero Stud Requirement:
90,000
Objective: Reach the Other Building
Your grapple gun’s about to get a workout in this Special Assignment. Latch on to the first two overhead grapple points and swing across two wide gaps on your way across the balcony. Jump at the end of each swing to ensure you clear the gaps.
Use another grapple point to zip up to the balcony, then jump onto the thin white and blue ledge to the right. Chase automatically performs a wall hug when he stands on thin ledges like this. Inch over to the next balcony on the right.
Snare the next grapple point, then move backward to pull down an overhead object. The object smashes into LEGO bricks; build them into a trampoline, then bounce up to the next balcony.
Smash the highest balcony’s patio furniture, then build the bricks into a special object called a catapult pad. Run onto the catapult pad, and it will send you flying over to the neighboring building. Wahoo!
Objective: Arrest the First Robber
The robbers flee when Chase lands on their building. You’ve got to catch them! Climb the nearby blue drainpipe to begin your pursuit.
Chase gets a chance to show off his acrobatic skills during his rooftop pursuit. Run to the right, and press
each time you near a vent that’s covered with blue and white LEGOs. Chase will either vault the vent or slide underneath it, without skipping a beat!
Run straight across the blue balance beam that follows. If you keep falling, try slowly stepping onto the beam first, then start running after Chase finds his balance.
Jump up the blue and white handholds beyond the balance beam to reach a higher balcony. Chase catches up to the first robber here. Press
to toss him to the ground, then quickly press
to arrest him while he’s down.
Objective: Arrest the Second Robber
After arresting the first robber, climb the nearby blue and white wall to reach the rooftop. Run to the right and jump onto a tightrope, and you’ll slide over to the next building.
Chase must swing from a series of blue and white flagpoles to advance. Just keep swinging and leaping between the flagpoles until you reach the far balcony. Grab the handhold on the balcony’s edge, then jump up to solid ground.
Next, climb some vines to reach a small balcony. Climb the nearby blue and white drainpipe to reach the building’s roof.
Run to the left to locate a wall runway. These are similar to catapult pads, except they make Chase perform a wall-run instead of simply thrusting him through the air. Step onto the wall runway, and watch as Chase deftly sprints across the wall of the building!
The second robber makes his stand on the roof beyond the wall runway. Throw him to the ground as you did before, then slap on the cuffs to bring him to justice.
Arrest the Third Robber
You’re doing great! Run toward the background and jump between the blue and white walls to wall-jump up to a higher roof.
All right, you’ve already caught the third robber! These guys must be getting tired from running. Make the arrest, then begin your pursuit of the robber leader.
Police Shield Piece 4 Arresting the third robber earns you this stage’s final shield piece. Easy enough! |
You land in a small office, where a vehicle token sits. Score!
Arrest the Robber Leader
After arresting the third robber, notice a pair of thin poles to the right. Chase can hop across poles like these with ease! Just jump onto the first pole, then jump again to land on the second. Make one last leap to reach the far roof.
Vault the blue and white vent beyond the thin poles, and you’ll land near the robber leader. The crook isn’t about to be caught so easily, though, and quickly slides down a tightrope. Hurry after him!
The tightrope leads to a building with a steep, sloped roof. Just keep pressing the Jump button to run up the roof without slipping. Take a breather on one of the flat areas if you like.
Slide down the roof’s other side to catch up to the robber leader. Again, the crook flees—but not before he destroys the balance beam he used to reach the next building. Fortunately, a news helicopter flies up between the buildings. Latch on to the chopper’s grapple point and swing across!
Jump up the handholds that stick out from the next building. You soon catch up to the robber leader, but he flees yet again by hoisting himself up in a lift. Use your grapple gun again to zip upward and continue this epic pursuit!
Use a catapult pad to soar over to a foreground building. At last, Chase catches up to the robber leader, who misjudged his jump and is clinging desperately to the roof’s edge. Chase takes the opportunity to question the crook before reaching down to save his life.
