Which brings us to here, Harvest Moon: Light of Hope. Originally released for the PC in the winter of 2017, the game received a Special Edition treatment for its console debut in May 2018. This installment contains the same cast of memorable characters from Harvest Moon: Skytree Village but brings them to an entirely new location called Beacon Town, where a lighthouse has gone out, the villagers have left, and the Harvest Goddess is in trouble.
The Special Edition version of the game adds an expanded Encyclopedia, complete with entries for every recipe and ore in the game, as well as a new mystical character named Soleil. Soleil’s appearance in the game makes multiplayer possible. Just hand the second PS4 controller or Joy-Con to a friend or family member and enlist their help in tending the farm, mining, chopping trees, and many of the other tasks available.
New content won’t stop with the Special Edition’s additional features. Natsume has several downloadable expansions in store, set to bring new characters, episodes, and tool upgrades to Beacon Town.
