Beacon Town consists of nine separate regions connected by roads and bridges, many of which have been destroyed in the storm that swept the island. Your ability to roam about is limited, first by roadblocks, then by the damaged bridges, but it won’t be long before you can visit every corner of the map.

Though you’re largely free to repair structures in the order you choose, resources aren’t always easy to come by, especially early in the game. Rather, we recommend performing the repairs in the order presented in the table at the end of this chapter. We’ll talk more about the individual shops in the Open for Business chapter, but for now, focus on getting acquainted with the different regions of Beacon Town.
The Farm
- Grassy terrain for farming.
- Chicken Coop, Animal Barn, Windmill, Fertilizer Bin.
- Multiple wells.
- Streams for fishing.
- Abundant Stone and both Hardwood and Softwood Lumber.

The farm encompasses three separate zones: western, southern, and eastern. Jeanne provides you with a house in the western area upon arriving, and it’s here where you make your home. The farm has plenty of acreage, perfect for growing crops and allowing animals to graze. You must repair the bridges leading to the southern area and eastern area in order to extend your farm. The pond in the eastern area contains abundant fish.
Town
- No farming terrain available.
- Sam’s General Store, Carol’s Flowers, Bastian’s Restaurant.
- Numerous residences in town square and across stream to the east.
- Setting for festivals and weddings.
- Limited trees and no rocks or forageable items.

The town is where the residents of the island come to shop, participate in festivals, and take a stroll. You spend quite a lot of time here as you buy and sell crops and seeds, purchase new recipes, and get your fortune told. On Sundays, it’s common to see the majority of the town’s residents gather here. Consider using that time to quickly shower gifts upon the citizenry—a great way to boost your popularity! Though you can’t farm this area, nor find any forageable items, there are several trees that provide lumber.
Lighthouse Overlook
- No farming terrain available.
- Home to lighthouse and Jeanne’s house.
- Replenishing forageable flowers and food items.
- Fishing available from wooden fishing pier.

The lighthouse overlook is an area critical not only to the story, but to the island’s prosperity. Here is where you bring the Stone Tablets, meet powerful Mages and Gods, and share the power of the island. Once the lighthouse is restored, you’ll likely only come here to gather forageable items and chat with the villagers who like to gaze out over the cliffs at night. Though it’s possible to catch some very rare fish from the pier, it’s one of the most difficult structures to repair in the game.
Mountain
- Ample farming terrain available in two climatic zones.
- Windmill, Fertilizer Bin, multiple wells.
- Gus’s Smithy, Sofia’s Livestock, Doc’s Architects, Hot Springs.
- Mine and Harvest Goddess Spring.
- Abundant Stone, Hardwood Lumber, Softwood Lumber, and forageable items.
- Fishing available at mountain lake and stream.

The mountain is the largest single region on the island and contains a vast area ready to be planted. Here you find two different terrain types, mixed and desert, each of which can yield exotic crop mutations. The mountain is also home to several important shops, and it’s where both Edmond and the Harvest Goddess make their homes. The lake above the waterfall is a prime fishing spot, and the mine northeast of Gus’s Smithy contains all the gems and metals you can ever need. Many of the villagers enjoy taking a hike in the mountain area. Those not inside a building can often be found near the Hot Springs or lake. Take a soak in the Hot Springs to replenish Stamina.
Beach
- Beach-combing for Seashells and marshes for farming.
- Nova’s Shop by the Sea open in the summer.
- Forageable items north of the sand, trees and rocks in the marsh areas.
- Beach: Western Area is home to the Dog Race.
- Fishing at the concrete fishing pier or in marsh ponds.

The beach contains three zones, two of which are marshes. The main sandy area is perfect for digging for Seashells (great to give as gifts!), or for fishing from the concrete pier. Though you can cast a line from the sand, you need to fish from the pier in order to catch anything. Even though the marsh areas to the east don’t see any visitors—you can farm and fish at them—the beach is quite popular among the residents, especially in the summer. Each villager has their preferred place to walk. Some like the sand while others prefer to stay beneath the palm trees.
