Players returned to Forget-Me-Not Valley again in 2008, this time as a female character (either the character from Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life or Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town) in Harvest Moon DS Cute.
This time around, rather than the Harvest Goddess and Witch Princess involved in an argument, it was the Harvest God who turned the Harvest Goddess to stone. Nevertheless, the player’s goal was to once again return the 101 Harvest Sprites and save the Harvest Goddess.
As with the prior games that introduced a female playable character, Harvest Moon DS Cute had a host of bachelors to marry, including Skye and Mason, who were new to the worlds of Mineral Town and Forget-Me-Not Valley. In addition to wearing different outfits (the bachelors also changed their outfits regularly), the player could alter the carpet and wallpaper in the home and have either a son or daughter once married. Upon starting a new game, the player was quizzed to see which character they would play.
Fun Facts
- Changing your clothes each day had a major impact on your ability to woo a bachelor! Each bachelor’s affection for the player character rose by 200 points each day she changed her clothes.
- Minor changes were made to the casino games in this version, such as removing “even” bets and allowing the player to keep their bet in play in the event of a tie.
- Many new interactions with other characters were added to this version of the game, including those that were in the Japanese version of Harvest Moon DS but had never appeared in the English version before.
- By getting the Love Bangle from the casino, the player could identify how many Affection Points were earned from the gifts given to the bachelors.
- The Touch Glove made it possible to sheer sheep in record time by using the stylus on the lower screen of the DS.
