Sky-Cycle Salvo
For this mission you must defend three radar stations from Symbiote infestations. Granted, Venom hopping into a Hovercar or Sky-Cycle to reach the rooftops isn’t necessarily his style, but you’re going to love having him once he’s tentacle-to-tentacle with the Symbiote horde.
Smash all the smaller Symbiotes away from the first station and keep defending it until the Large Symbiote arrives. Get in a couple of blows, but when it raises its arms to attack, dodge out of the way and counterattack from the side or rear. Use whatever special attacks you have available to puddle the Large Symbiote and save the first station.
Cruise up to the second station by the Daily Bugle. Goblin Drones rain green energy bolts down at you from the sky while the Symbiote horde pounds away at the station. You can either stay on the Sky-Cycle to blast the Drones, or you can land on the roof and use Venom’s Web Line to destroy the annoying Drones. While the sky above you is clear, melee the Symbiotes and wipe them off the rooftop.
Continue besting normal Symbiotes until two Large Symbiotes appear. You must beat both of them before the radar station gets destroyed.
Co-op Combo: Venom and Spider-Man
Normally, you don’t see these two working together. In this case, though, two web shooters are better than one and can remove the Drones quickly enough to leave you extra time to defeat the Large Symbiotes.
The third radar station is atop a building overlooking the harbor in front of Liberty Island. The station lies on a lower roof, but you want to climb to the higher rooftop and shoot at the Goblin Drones from up here with your webs. There are too many Drones to survive long down below. Better to remove them all first before engaging the Symbiotes.
Keeping fighting till the last Symbiote falls and the radar station still has a few nuts and bolts left. You might have had to recruit a questionable ally to the S.H.I.E.L.D. cause, but the mission ends in success and you foil another part of Green Goblin’s master plan.
We Interrupt This Broadcast
Recommended Hero: Spider-Man
It seems appropriate that Spider-Man should be the one to take out the big-screen TVs of J. Jonah Jameson shouting insults at S.H.I.E.L.D. and its allies. S.H.I.E.L.D. knows the real Jameson is out of town and wants to eliminate Mysterio’s propaganda bombarding the city from the huge media screens. You’re just the acrobatic superhero to make it happen!
Follow the yellow objective marker to the first TV. Target J. Jonah’s big, fat heat, shoot your web line, and pull the whole thing down. You can also bring down a TV by crawling on it and performing an Air Attack to break the frame.
Continue to the first of the TV antennas. Smash the antenna until it’s nothing but scrap metal and dust. Make sure you don’t leave any of it left.
Destroy all ten of Mysterio’s propaganda parts. There are no bad guys to stop you, so swing through town at your leisure and be happy that you can finally shut up J. Jonah Jameson—at least until the real one returns from out of town.
