Taking Some Heat
New weather machines are working together to create a super-blizzard, and it’s finally time to knock these weather machines out of commission for good. Fly up to the top of the rooftop high above Wasp and take on the Frost Giants guarding the first machine. Two energy pods on two different rooftops generate energy for the weather machine, so it’s best to defeat enemies on one roof and destroy the two pods there before tackling the second roof. If you need to help getting up, there’s a convenient lift on the outside of the building too.
The second weather machine is easy to spot: just look down from your current rooftop to one below. This time the weather machine’s energy pods are all on one rooftop. Exit your Sky-Cycle in the middle of the roof and start attacking Frost Giants. Cap’s Shield Assault will single-handedly destroy most, if not all, of your enemies in one shot. If any are still standing, you can always go hand-to-hand with the tougher Frost Giants and combo them off the roof to get rid of them.
The third weather machine is a short jaunt over to a nearby rooftop. It’s a similar setup, though there’s also a Large Frost Giant included. Deal with his minions first, then concentrate on the Large Frost Giant. Jump or hover over his icy shock wave and return attacks with Shield Strike. You’ll have more success if you’ve advanced to Shield Strike Upgrade 1 and 2. With the destruction of the final weather machine, you end Loki’s grip on the skies and earn another victory against the God of Mischief.
Just Say Nano
Upon completion of “Taking Some Heat,” JARVIS calls out for help to defend two entrances to Avengers Tower that are under attack from the Frost Giants. If you’re doing this mission solo, you will need someone like Iron Man with a potent ranged attack to cover both entrances. While defending one entrance, use your ranged attack to drive off enemies from the second entrance. If one entrance takes more damage, prioritize defending the weaker entrance.
The Frost Giants will come fast and furious. Don’t follow Giants away from the entrances; even if they aren’t dead, knock them away from the entrance and then return to enemies that are directly dealing damage to the doors. If you can get enemies to lock on you, dodge around and let them try to harm you while leaving the entrances alone.
JARVIS gives updates on the nano virus completion and the door strength. It’s good news if the nano virus percentage to completion is lower than the doors’ defenses; when you hear an entrance is down to 25 percent, look for the door that is more damaged and defend it until the end.
A Large Frost Giant will join during the fight. Avoid its icy shock wave, but don’t put too much time and energy into defeating him. You don’t have enough time to fight the Large Frost Giant and all the other minions. It’s better to knock out multiple Frost Giants on a door rather than lower a Large Frost Giant’s defenses.
If you can fend off the Frost Giants long enough for the nano virus creation process to complete, you finish the mission. This is a very difficult fight, so don’t be discouraged if you have to retry several times to succeed. It’s a big help if you can get another player to join with you and defend the doors together.

Co-op Combo: Iron Man and Thor
With two entrances to defend, it’s a natural fit to have two Avengers battling to protect the nano virus. Iron Man and Thor work well together; each can hold out in melee, while armed with a powerful ranged attack that they can use to help with the other Avenger’s Frost Giants if they have a breather. If each Avenger concentrates on protecting his door, S.H.I.E.L.D. gets its nano virus.
