Target the Traitor
Recommended Hero: Nova
- Mission Giver: Luke Cage
- Type: Escort
- Reward: 150 Blue Sparks, Large Symbiote
Luke Cage asks you to turn on three radar stations, which will triangulate the position of the scientist who may be helping the Green Goblin. Your partner in the first half of this mission is a tech expert standing out in front of Oscorp; keep him safe and deliver him to each radar station to power them up as you defend against Symbiotes.
Your first destination is a rooftop below the big digital image of J. Jonah Jameson on the Daily Bugle building facade. Land on the roof and drop the tech expert on the platform. He turns on the radar station without a problem.
Follow the yellow objective marker to the second radar station. Land on the platform and let the tech expert do his thing. The radar station takes a minute to power up, and during that time it’s vulnerable to attack.
Symbiotes flood the rooftop and storm toward the radar station. Intercept them with Nova’s blue energy bolts and try to repel some of them over the edge. Handle any that remain with a melee smackdown or circle the roof with continuous ranged fire until the Symbiotes are silent.
Fly the tech expert to the third and final radar station on the rooftop out in front of the Oscorp building. The generator powering the radar station actually is located on the next rooftop below, so get the tech expert to work and then drop down to combat the Symbiotes besieging the area.
Blow away any Symbiotes near the generator. If you can disintegrate your enemies from range, stay put. If they begin to swarm the generator, throw some punches and kicks in melee near the generator, then dodge out of danger when it gets too intense and return fire from range again.
Once the third radar station is operational, fly down to Luke Cage. He’s spying on the scientist down by the bridge.
Now Luke Cage needs you to trail the scientist. Jump in the provided Hovercar and follow the scientist’s gray car at a distance. Don’t let the car get too far ahead of you where you can’t see where it turns, but don’t get close enough that you can’t adjust to any sharp turns. Follow the scientist’s car as it twists and turns through the city streets.
The scientist parks his car near the warehouse district and ducks into the sewers. You follow, only to run into a Large Symbiote blocking the sewer entrance. The Large Symbiote will hurl itself at you, causing major damage if it lands on you, but if it misses, you have an opportunity to land some blows while it’s temporarily stunned.
Stay in motion during this fight. Between the ample amounts of spawning Symbiotes and the two Large Symbiotes you must defeat, combat is busy. Strike from range when you can, and dodge as soon as foes get close. If you have to fight hand-to-hand, hit for only two or three blows before jetting to a new area with a dodge. Continue punishing the bad guys until you defeat them all and can finally enter the sewer.
Sewer Search
The Sewers (Second Trip)
Once you enter the first sewer chamber, pick up the sonic weapon and carry it over to the goo wall. Rip the wall apart with one blast and then press the IN button on the pipe. This flushes the water out of the central hole and you can now jump down to the lower level.
Continue ahead until Symbiotes drop from the ceiling and engage. Bounce around the tunnel from wall to wall as you dodge and assault the Symbiotes. Within seconds, you should have Sparks instead of goo.
Press the IN button in the next chamber to lower the water level. Drop down into the basin and battle through all the Symbiotes that appear. When you have a minute to breathe, pick up the sonic weapon and place it on the wood planks nearest the goo wall.
Swing back up to the IN button and press it again. The water level rises again. Double-jump across the wooden platforms to reach the sonic weapon. Pick it up and blast a hole through the goo wall.
Fight more Symbiotes in the next tunnel. Eventually, you come out at the beginning of a waterway. A raft with a sonic weapon sitting on it bobs up and down in front of you. Jump on the raft and pick up the sonic weapon. You begin to float down the waterway.
Giant goo tendrils will shoot up from the water and damage the raft if you aren’t careful. Position yourself so that the weapon always points directly ahead, which means you will have to rotate as the raft turns. Don’t worry about the first two tendrils, but you will have to blast the goo wall blocking the tunnel ahead.
The water gushes you down into another chamber where you can charge against the wall as you drift by two charging stations. Quickly turn to face to your right and blast two more tendrils as they rise out of the water.
Blast the next goo wall. If you’re low on energy for the sonic weapon, let the raft hit the goo wall and gently walk over to the edge and recharge at the charging station to your left. Then blow away the goo wall.
Now comes the hardest part. As the current sweeps you down into the final chamber, rotate to point the sonic weapon forward and blast the rising tendrils. One will rise to your right as you enter, a second to your left as you drift by the recharge stations, and a third and fourth to your right as you pass the final recharge stations.
Nuke the final goo wall to enter the tunnel leading out of the waterway. Jump off the raft to the solid stone tunnel and follow it until you see the Green Goblin talking with the scientist. As you listen in, you realize the scientist was forced to do the Goblin’s bidding. Now you must rush in to save him before Goblin’s Symbiotes eat him for lunch.
You have a lot of Symbiotes to dispatch here. Luckily, it’s a vast chamber with plenty of room to dodge and counterattack. Use Spidey’s speed to your advantage; don’t sit still for more than a split second, and move back and forth from target to target quickly. Land a couple of blows on each enemy at a time, and they will add up to knockouts the longer the battle goes.

Co-op Combo: Spider-Man and Iron Fist
If you combine the two fastest heroes, the Symbiotes won’t know what hit them. Flash around the chamber, dazzling them with your acrobatics, or combo on single foes for almost instant obliteration.
If you need help against the bigger targets, grab the sonic weapon and shoot them at close range. Just don’t walk around with the sonic weapon too long; you can’t move well with it, and you need to move well to overcome the Symbiotes here. Take out all the enemies and White Tiger arrives to escort the scientist out and send you after Green Goblin.
Goblin’s Lair
Continuing playing with Spidey as you hunt down the Green Goblin and the defense technology the scientist handed over to him. Enter the chamber past White Tiger and double-jump around the exterior of the circular platform in the middle. Clear each gap until you reach the yellow hand rails.
Carefully jump up the yellow rails and arc up onto the platform. If you’re quick on your feet you’ll beat the rising waters that now surround the whole platform.
There are three pressure plates—color-coded red, orange, and blue—with corresponding steam vents on opposite sides spaced out around the platform. Jump on any one of the pressure plates and Green Goblin flies in on his glider. Periodically, he will release an armed Goblin Drone to buzz around and attack you.
The Drone will circle around the platform. Time an Air Attack on the correct pressure plate to send a plume of steam up in the air to knock the Drone down. It will sputter on the platform for a few seconds before exploding.
Before it explodes, pick up the Goblin Drone and heave it at the circling Green Goblin. You know you have him in your sights when you see the target indicator lock on to him. Strike Green Goblin three times with the Drones to knock him out of the sky.
However, Green Goblin will not go down easily. After you hit him with the first Drone, he drops a slew of Goblin Grenades that detonate across the platform. Roll away from any grenade clumps and dodge as best you can to avoid major damage.
After your second successful Drone hit on Goblin, he summons Symbiotes onto the platform. Now you must wade through enemy attacks and exploding grenades as you set up for the final Drone strike.
Peg Green Goblin with a third Drone and he falls to the platform. S.H.I.E.L.D. arrives to scoop him up into custody, and you can finally get out of the sludge and back into the sunlight.
