Crash Site
Recommended Hero: Star-Lord
- Mission Giver: Cosmo
- Type: Explore
- Rewards: 50 Blue Sparks, The Collector, Mining Transport
The crew of the Milano—Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, Drax, and Groot—hold one of the most destructive artifacts in the universe, an infinity gem. Unfortunately for them, that doesn’t make them deadly or feared—it makes them wanted fugitives! The world conqueror, Ronan, wants the infinity gem for himself and has chased Star-Lord and crew to Knowhere. After a crash landing, it’s up to Star-Lord to navigate Knowhere and find The Collector.
Jump up and grab the lowest blue rail and continue climbing up the right side of the space station. Follow the blue rails until you cross over the spinning blades to the left side. Jump across the gaps, then make your way up the blue rails to the top of the platform. Double-jump across one more gap and take the final blue rails to the top level. Smash open the door to enter.
Double-jump up to the next level and break open the door. Double-jump up again to a higher level and then jump on the horizontal blue rail to slide across to the other side of the chamber.
Follow the corridor and bash through the next door. Jump over the pipe and climb the blue rails to the higher platform. Once you reach the vertical rail, you’ll capture your first Iron Man Crossover Coin. Collect nine more to allow Iron Man to join this Play Set.
Enter the green square with a pile of metal plates inside. Perform an Air Strike to shatter the plates and drop down to the lower level below. Cross the chamber and greet The Collector to fulfill your contract—handing over the infinity gem and completing your first mission.
Knowhere to Run
Docking Bay
Under Ronan’s order to retrieve the infinity gem, the Sakaarans attack Knowhere. The Sakaarans are your main enemies in the Guardians of the Galaxy Play Set, and in this mission you get to practice combat moves on the Sakaaran Foot Soldiers and their drop pods. Don’t waste a prime opportunity to let Gamora go sword-to-sword with the first foes to invade Knowhere.
Pick up the Nova Crossover Coin to your left and open the door to the Docking Bay. Speak with Cosmo and he asks you to intercept the incoming Sakaarans before they deactivate Knowhere’s shields and bring in a whole invasion fleet.
Sakaaran Foot Soldiers will come at you with big blades and big muscles. Dodge any swings in your direction, and wield your own blade with precision. Cut apart each Sakaaran as soon as you have an opportunity to strike from the side or rear. If you don’t have time to dodge, block and counterattack.
Docking Bay (Lower Level)
Once you defeat the Foot Soldiers on the lower deck, omni-blaster turrets spring up to guard the ramp to the upper level. The laser turret sensors sweep the area, and if you’re caught in the green scan field, the turrets open fire. Wait for the scan field to sweep past, then charge in and destroy the turrets with one or two power thrusts.
Continue up the ramp and demolish the remaining omni-blaster turrets. More drop pods descend on the upper level. When a drop pod first touches down, you have a second to destroy the pod and prevent the Sakaaran inside from exiting. Try to destroy as many drop pods as you can to lessen the number of foes you have to fight.
Tear through the last of the Sakaarans to complete your second mission. You’ve saved the station for the time being, but there are more challenges ahead, and many more battles that will require all the Guardians’ talents to triumph.
Guardians of the Galaxy Enemies
Sakaaran Foot Soldier (Blaster)
The base version of a Sakaaran, equipped with a laser gun that delivers minor damage. Once you gain a level or two, pushing around these guys won’t be a problem.
Sakaaran Foot Soldier (Sword)
Like the blaster-equipped version of the Foot Soldier, these Sakaarans aren’t that strong but wield a sword that can sting in combat if you let them get close enough.
Flying Sakaaran
These Sakaarans take to the air and prove a nuisance for ground-based heroes. Air Attacks and ranged fire are the way to go to knock them down.
Sakaaran Gunner
Tougher than the Foot Soldier and armed with a laser cannon that hurts if you get scorched by one. You will have to land several blows to vaporize these enemies.
Large Sakaaran
The most powerful Sakaaran resembles a tank on legs. Keep your distance from this brute and deal as much ranged damage as possible. Of course they shoot a devastating laser beam from their visor, so stay on the move.
Scarab
Small and skittery, these robots will attempt to swarm you. Certain Scarabs spawned by Large Sakaarans can explode and deal unexpected damage to you.
Let’s Be Clear
It’s time to bring in Groot to clean up the debris blocking the Docking Bay bridges. As powerful as Groot may be, he can’t bash his way through the debris. You need to pick up a fuel cell from the illuminated conduits on the floor and hurl the fuel cell at the debris. Upon contact, the fuel cell explodes and removes the first barrier.
Cross the bridge and engage the Sakaarans guarding the next platform. With Groot’s long reach, you shouldn’t have too much trouble sweeping the Sakaarans aside and pulverizing anyone that tries to get back up.
Before you can reach safety, however, one of the Sakaaran fighters hovers in front of the exit and opens fire on you. Run away from the ship and duck behind the stack of crates to the right. Hide there until the ship pauses and reloads.
Grab a fuel cell from next to the crates and throw it at the ship. Three fuel cell hits will send the ship spinning out of control, only to detonate on the deck below. After the ship burns up in a fiery poof, let Groot give one of his huge grins and enjoy another mission accomplished.
