Side Missions: Chasing Down The Bad Guys

Bad Press

Return to Wasp for a string of side missions involving the mayor and the city media. Loki has cast a spell on the mayor and they’re using the media towers about the city to preach Loki’s “good name.” Fly toward Liberty Island and stop on the rooftop marked by the objective marker. Fire a Missile Barrage at them from range or fly straight into the rooftop for an Air Attack. Defeat the Frost Giants and then trash the tower to end the first of three transmission stations.

Repeat the process for the second and third transmission towers by following the objective markers. You’ll be thankful you don’t have to hear, “All Hail, Loki!” by the time you finish, though Wasp will be happy that you prevented the brainwashed mayor from spreading Loki’s lies.

Keeping It Loki

Wasp asks you to rescue the mayor and bring him to a designated S.H.I.E.L.D. safe zone for deprogramming. As Black Widow, you can slip in through the Frost Giant defenses with stealth and get off surprise attacks or unload from range with your twin pistols or stingers. Take out the Frost Giants guarding the mayor on the street.

Pick up the mayor after you’ve cleared the area of Frost Giants and run toward the safe zone. Once you drop him off inside the safe zone, more Frost Giants attack. If the attacks start coming in quickly, dodge out of the safe zone temporarily and then roll back in when it’s cleared out or you have a target of opportunity on the side or back of one of your enemies. Defend the mayor from the Frost Giants to complete the mission.

A Worldwide Web

This mission is similar to the previous one, only now Loki has put a spell on U.N. members and you’re tasked with rescuing them and delivering them to S.H.I.E.L.D. safe zones. Zip over to the first safe zone and you’ll find the first U.N. member encased in ice a few yards away. Shatter the ice layer, pick the U.N. member up, and drop her in the safe zone for your first success.

The second U.N. member is across the street. This time, though, Frost Giants spawn around the area, and you’ll have to deal with them before picking up the U.N. member. Drop him off at the safe zone for another success.

Do the same for the third and fourth U.N. members. The third member is surrounded by ice; break through that and it’s an easy jog back to the safe zone with her. The fourth member has Frost Giant bodyguards. So long as you take your time and spray the Frost Giants at range with Hawkeye’s powerful arrow arsenal, you should handle this mission like a pro.

Civil Warfare

Just like the other Wasp escort missions, you have to save civilians this time and carry them back to the local S.H.I.E.L.D. safe zone. You must rescue six civilians in three minutes or the mission fails.

After you arrive at the safe zone, ignore the spawning Frost Giants and find the closest civilian encased in ice. Shatter the ice, pick up the civilian, and bring her back to the safe zone. You don’t have a lot of time to fight off the Frost Giants, but you can use Hulk’s Rampaging Rush to charge through Frost Giants on your way to a civilian.

If the enemy crowd gets thick, use Raging Roar to blast them away and then run for a new civilian. Once you get the sixth civilian into the safe zone, the danger immediately ends and you complete the mission.

Air Mail

After all your hard work, Fury wants to reward you with a new vehicle. Only problem? You have to go get it across town. Ride your old ground vehicle out to the docks and fetch your new S.H.I.E.L.D. Sky-Cycle.

The Sky-Cycle will ride like a regular bike, but if you transform it, the Sky-Cycle takes to the air. Zip around on it for a while, then fly the Sky-Cycle up to the top of Avengers Tower to complete the mission.
