Sims who love to explore tombs will make Egypt one of their prime destinations. Just below the sands are labyrinths that have lain undisturbed for centuries upon centuries.
Some tombs are hidden from sight and must be discovered before they can be combed. Others are easily accessed via many of these community locations, such as the pyramids.
Community Locations
Abu Simbel
The visages of the pharaohs were carved into the rock cliffs at Abu Simbel, preserving their memories for the millennia. Before bidding farewell to Egypt (but you will surely come back, yes?), be sure to bask in the wonder of this...well, wonder!
Al Simhara Base Camp
The facilities at Egypt’s base camp are not as nice as those you find in France or China, but they do provide for all of your needs when first arriving in the desert paradise.
There is a bathroom where you can attend to hygiene. You can grab a quick snack or prepare a meal at the small kitchen. Sleep, though, happens inside one of the provided tents—there are no nice beds here.
If you want somewhere pleasant to sleep in Egypt, either pay out for a quality tent (perhaps the Sultan’s Tabernacle) or buy a vacation home once you max out your Egypt visa.
Copper Quarry
The Copper Quarry on the small island near the Al Simhara marketplace is where the ancients pulled rich ore from the ground to create their amazing relics and treasures. Return to the site of ancient copperwork to explore for lost treasures and other valuables.
Desert’s End
Although the pharaohs believed they could exist forever in the afterlife by being mummified (with their organs pulled from their bodies and placed in canopic jars), modern Sims don’t quite go through all that trouble anymore.
The Desert’s End is a traditional cemetery site with a mausoleum to explore for fun. Take a stroll through the site to unwind and take in the beautiful views.
Great Pyramid
One of the wonders of the world, the Great Pyramid is a testament to the brilliance of ancient architects—and the will of the pharaohs.
The Great Pyramid is an essential stop for any Sim visiting Egypt and the gateway to one of the destination’s most dangerous tombs: the Tomb of Death.
With a name like that, you just know there has to be something good down there. Why else would they give it such a scary name?
Great Sphinx
Though the ancients were dedicated to the exploration of math and early sciences, they were not without mysticism. The Great Sphinx that cuts a profile in the Al Simhara sky is a monument dedicated to a mythological creature said to possess incredible knowledge.
To explore inside the Great Sphinx, inspect the door between its front paws.
Oh. Apparently the wisdom of the Sphinx requires a little ingenuity of your own.
Pyramid of the Burning Sands
The Pyramid of the Burning Sands may look small next to the Great Pyramid, but it’s still deserving of wonder.
The interior of the pyramid is home to the Tomb of Burning Sands, which is heated not by the blazing sun above, but a different heat source that grows naturally within its ancient chambers.
Pyramid of the Sky
The Pyramid of the Sky is set apart from the twins that rest in the gloating shadow of the Great Pyramid.
This site deserves your attention, as you may find interesting relics just inside the pyramid’s grand entrance. And after exploring, why not take a dip in the cool waters just outside the pyramid?
A little swim is a great escape from the scorching sun.
Pyramid of the Wind
While thousands of years of wind have shorn some of the ornate stonework off this impressive pyramid, no earthly element has been able to bring it crashing down.
The Pyramid of the Wind is near the Great Pyramid and the site of the Tomb of the Infinite Halls. Dare you brave this eerily named tomb?
Ruins of Karnak
The Ruins of Karnak hint at a site that once must have made jaws drop as Sims sailed in its shadow. The roof of the temple has long since collapsed, but many of the support pillars remain.
They reach out of the sand like fingers, beckoning adventurers to investigate the ruins. This is the entrance to the Karnak Treasure Halls, a place you will surely want to explore while on an Egyptian adventure.
Temple of Queen Hatshepsut
This wide temple built into the dunes is impressive from first glance. But the name doesn’t necessarily describe exactly what you will be exploring on this site.
The real action below the sands is in the Servant’s Quarters and Hatshepsut’s Quarters. What secrets did these ancients keep? And can you survive the traps of the tombs to return them to the surface?
Tomb of Discovery
The Tomb of Discovery is usually the very first tomb explored in Egypt. The entrance to the tomb is in a small building just behind base camp. You are not the first person to explore this tomb, though, as you will discover when you take on the earliest adventure in Egypt.
Camp Sites
With so much adventuring to do in Egypt, you may not have time to make it back to base camp before your Sim gets exhausted.
If you haven’t bought a tent yet (understandable—travel is not cheap), use one of the three camp sites in Egypt to rest your weary bones after a long day of adventuring.
