It’s tempting to explore the hubs over the course of Story Mode, but you’ll find the experience much easier after you complete the main story. Once Story Mode is complete and you’ve unlocked Brainiac, you are able to explore the hubs with nearly every super power needed to see and do everything that the hubs have to offer!
During Story Mode, the hubs feature special levers that let you switch your hub character to any character that you’ve unlocked. This is great, but once again, things get even better after you beat the story. After that, you’ll always be enjoying Free Play in the hubs. Free Play in the hubs works just like it does in the missions.
You can change your current character to any character that you’ve unlocked simply by holding down the Tag button. This gives you instant access to every character that you own, anywhere, anytime! Fight the urge to explore the hubs until you’ve beaten Story Mode, then go wild in the hubs with a full army of characters at your fingertips.
