The Hub

Once you complete the tutorial level, the portal brings you to the Hub. At this location, you can do several different things. First you can recruit a sidekick. There are several of these wandering around the Hub area. Once you find a suitable sidekick, you can outfit them. Then you can enter one of the doors to explore one of the different parts of the forest.

The Hub is where you pick and outfit sidekicks to help you explore the forest to find the cakes for the Witch.

There are several different sidekicks in the Hub. As you approach one, the sidekick’s stats will appear over his or her head. Each sidekick has three different stats that consist of an icon and a number. The sword icon and number show you how much damage or healing the sidekick can inflict. The shield icon and number indicate how much damage the sidekick can take before passing out. Finally, the eye icon and number represent the sidekick’s ability to uncover hidden secrets and enter doors.

Check out the values of the sidekicks. Recruit one with a good balance of statistics.

Once you have recruited a sidekick, it is time to outfit your new friend. Walk over to the sidekick outfitter and activate it. Here you can assign your sidekick a helmet, a weapon, and some armor. As you explore the forest and open up loot chests, you will unlock more equipment for outfitting your sidekick. The equipment can boost one, two, or even three of your sidekick’s statistics and make them more effective.

Now that you have a fully outfitted sidekick, you are ready to explore the forest. After finishing the tutorial, the doorway to DunBroch Forest 1 is unlocked. After you complete that forest, you unlock the doorway to the next forest. You must explore all eight forests to find all of the Witch’s cakes.

Enter the doors that you have unlocked to explore the eight forests. Find all of the cakes in each of the forests so the Witch will leave the Triplets alone.
