As you enter the third forest, collect as many Sparks and loot as you choose. Then continue to the areas where the cakes await.
Area A
This area has only one cake. However, it takes quite a bit of effort to collect this one. The cake is linked to four round, stone pressure plates. All four plates must be pressed at the same time in order to break the spell. However, you can only stand on one of them at a time. Therefore, you will need to find something to place on the other three pressure plates.
This cake is linked to four pressure plates.
Luckily there is a large rock nearby. Walk over to the rock, pick it up, and then drop it onto one of the pressure plates. Notice that the link between that plate and the cake is broken. Now you need to find two more rocks and place them on two of the pressure plates.
Use the nearby rock to hold down one of the pressure plates.
A second rock is off to the side by itself. While you can get there without any trouble, enemies spawn behind you. Carry the rock as far as you can, then fight off the enemies blocking your way. Pick up the rock again, carry it the rest of the way, and place it on a second pressure plate. Now go after the third rock. You have to break your way through some blocks to get to it. Defeat the three Bear Catapults guarding it and then be careful as you carry it back so that you don’t step off the side of the narrow walkways or your character will be defeated. Once you have three rocks on three of the pressure plates, stand on the fourth pressure plate to break the spell. Then collect the cake and continue to the next area.
The second rock looks clear. However, you need to fight your way through enemies to get it back to the cake.
The third rock is defended by three Bear Catapults.
Area B
This area has the timed pressure plates near the cakes. The first one is near the entrance. There are some destructible blocks near it. Avoid destroying the blocks, since some enemies spawn behind the blocks. If you leave the blocks intact, the enemies can’t harm you. Stand on the pressure plate for ten seconds and then collect the cake.
Enemies spawn behind the block wall, so avoid destroying the wall and you have fewer threats to worry about.
The second cake is also near a block wall. Use the same strategy as before. However, you have to deal with two Oak Bears and stand on the pressure plate for fifteen seconds. This is a good place to try to lead the bears away and then rush back to stand on the pressure plate for several seconds. Then grab the cake to make all the enemies disappear.
Standing on this pressure plate for fifteen seconds can be tough with a couple Oak Bears trying to defeat you.
The last cake is a bit tougher. The pressure plate is buried under blocks. So start off by destroying the blocks to reveal the plate so you can stand on it. Then a Mahogany Bear and some Pine Bears appear and begin attacking. For this one, stay on the pressure plate and jump up to try to dodge the shockwaves. You have to stand on the plate for fifteen seconds. Don’t waste time trying to defeat the Mahogany Bear. If you do, another one spawns in. Instead, break the spell and then rush past the big bear to get the cake. When you do, all of the enemies disappear and the magical barrier disappears so you can make your way towards the exit.
