LEGO Marvel's Avengers Guide Walkthrough (Console) Level 3 | Story Mode
Captain America (Classic) and Bucky Barnes
Destroy the First Cannon
The fighting begins before the Red Skull’s mocking ends. Take down the black-clad HYDRA agents until one approaches a cylindrical device on a higher floor. The device activates a cannon defense system
.
Use Captain America’s shield to put out the fires in the middle of the room. Use the bricks salvaged from the flames to build a Red Grapple Handle at the base of the cannon.
Tag to Bucky Barnes and pull the handle to remove a chunk of the cannon’s armor. To destroy the cannon, target the silver tubes with sticky grenades, courtesy of Bucky Barnes.
Destroy the Second Cannon
A second cannon emerges from under the floor
, and this one has a force field protecting it. You must avoid the cannon’s shots for 20 seconds. At the end of the 20 seconds, the force field drops.
Pull on the Red Grapple Handle (it comes pre-installed, so you don’t need to build anything) to expose silver tubes. Lob a sticky grenade at the tubes to eliminate the second cannon.
Destroy the Third Cannon
Arnim Zola deploys the third cannon
across the room from the first. Like the second cannon, it has a Red Grapple Handle already in place and is also protected by a force field (one that lasts for 30 seconds). You destroy it in the same way as you did the previous cannons.
The third cannon leaves behind a pile of bricks. Build the bricks into an air-based elevator. Then hop into the air current to reach the next floor.
Reach the Control Room
The Red Skull sends down a cadre of his guards in an elevator. You can’t engage them until you remove the glowing blue bars blocking the elevator shaft
. Target the silver bricks above the bars with Bucky Barnes. Tag to Captain America and aim for the newly exposed Shield Switch.
After the bars vanish, don’t rush into the room with the elevator to fight the Red Skull’s henchmen. Most are the same rank-and-file enemies you’ve faced up to this point, but a more powerful foe dual-wielding large guns guards the elevator doors.
Wait for the weaker enemies to charge from the elevator room and dispatch them. To tackle the tougher guard, put Captain America in Shield Mode to deflect the incoming shots. Move in close to knock out the two-gun terror.
The elevator requires one character to stand on each of the two activator panels on its floor. If you’re playing solo, move the character you’re controlling to one of the panels and your partner should automatically stand on the other. When Captain America and Bucky Barnes reach the control room, the Red Skull and Arnim Zola scurry away and seal the exit behind them.
Find Another Way Around
A round door on a high ledge
bursts open. A fresh wave of guards emerges from the door and attacks. After handling the enemies, target the Red Grapple Handle below the round door (the handle is on the same level as your heroes) with Bucky Barnes. Pulling the handle reveals a ladder that leads up to a landing in front of the round door.
The door is built from silver bricks, which call for a sticky grenade from Bucky Barnes. Climb the ladder and go through the blasted-open door to continue the pursuit of Red Skull.
Battle the Red Skull
The Red Skull guards one end of the narrow catwalk
. Battle the Red Skull with Captain America through a Quick Time Event. The Red Skull uses a powerful weapon to blast anyone who steps on the lighter-colored section of the walkway. Put Captain America in Shield Mode to deflect the Red Skull’s blasts and move in close. Arnim Zola quickly destroys a large part of the catwalk and starts a small fire, forcing Captain America to retreat.
Extinguish the fire
with Captain America’s shield, then target the debris behind the fire with Bucky Barnes. The sticky grenade turns the debris into bricks that can be built into a springboard.
Tag to Captain America and jump from the springboard to the Twirl Poles. Avoid the grenades thrown by the Red Skull while swinging between the poles. When you reach the other side, the scene briefly flashes back to the present.
Hopping Train Cars
This next stretch takes place atop a train. There are new hazards in addition to the black-clad HYDRA guards. Avoid falling off the train while fighting. Extended combinations where characters leap during an attack may carry them over the edge. Handrails line each train car but your character may not always grab one before falling to the ground.
There are also turrets that shoot bullets, and coils that discharge electricity between them. Take out both hazards from a safe distance with a thrown shield or other ranged attack.
To capture Arnim Zola, you must work toward the front of the train. After advancing past a few cars, one of the powerful guards armed with two guns appears and destroys the roof of a train car, dropping Captain America and Bucky Barnes inside the train
.
Extinguishing the fire reveals two sets of building bricks. One set becomes a hanging bar attached to the wall of the car. The other is a control device that lowers and raises the hanging bar.
Get Back On Top
Use the control device to move the bar to its lower position. Double-jump with Captain America to reach it. Jump up to the roof of the car and be ready for a fight. Defeat the guard and destroy the nearby container.
The bricks in the container include a Red Grapple Handle. Use the rest to build a tracked sleigh. Push the sleigh down the track until Bucky Barnes can target the handle and hoist himself up.
The next coils are shielded by silver bricks that must be removed with a sticky grenade. The enemies beyond the coils are supported by twin turrets, so work quickly to clear the area before your heroes take too much damage.
Destroy the Cannon
Upon reaching the next car
, Arnim Zola taunts Captain America. He then unveils his ultimate weapon: a large, gold brick-plated cannon that fires a devastating energy beam.
The energy beam destroys the containers in front of it to show its power. Keep the turret just off-screen while you construct a Shield Deflect Pad. Move Captain America on top of the pad and redirect the energy beam back at the turret. Target each of the gold bricks until they are destroyed.
Final Fight on the Train
Put out the fire and drop down the hatch from which the cannon emerged. A short jaunt through the train cars ends
when an explosion leaves Bucky Barnes clinging to the outside and Captain America fighting on his own on the inside. Defeat the final enemies inside the train to return to the present.
