Call-out Locations

Both Red and Blue Bases are identical in layout, weapons, and equipment. To determine which base you are in, look at the coloring within the bases. The bases will be your main spawn point in all game types. Your base will also house your flag in Capture the Flag (CTF), and you will arm the bomb in the enemy’s base in Assault. Each base can be broken up into categories and have their own call-outs. When calling out areas, simply add “red” or “blue” to the location (e.g., Top Blue, Blue Turret).

Main Room/Flag Room

Other Names: Red Flag/Blue Flag
There is an SMG by the front door here, and you’ll find an Assault Rifle and two Plasma Grenades in the corner of the room. This room also houses your flag in CTF and is where you will arm the bomb in Assault. There are four ways to exit the base from here.

Red/Blue Control Room

Other names: Red Control/Blue Control
In this room, you will find two Frag Grenades, a Plasma Pistol, a Power Drain, and a Mauler. There is a switch inside the Control Room of each base that opens the windows and an automatic doorway (known by Side Door) that leads you in or out.

Red/Blue Camo/Invis Door

Other names: Red Camo Door/Blue Camo Door
This door leads into a hallway where you can locate a Magnum. Follow the hall to Camo Spawn.

Red/Blue Back Entrance/Back Door

Other names: Red Back Door/Blue Back Door
If you take the Back Door to each base, you will find a Battle Rifle up against the outside wall.

Red/Blue Top Base

Other names: Top Red/Top Blue
This is the upper, outside level of the base. The Machinegun Turret is located by sandbags and fusion coils.

Missile Silo 1

Other names: Launch Pad 1, Silo 1, Territory 3
In front of the side door of Red Base, near the Missile Silo, you will find a Bubble Shield and a Needler.

Red/Blue Warthog/Shotgun Spawn

Other names: N/A
You have quick access to a Warthog out in front of Base. The Shotgun is outside the base, propped against the left wall.

Red/Blue First BR

Other names: N/A
The first Battle Rifle is located next to the cylinder outside the front door.

Red Camo

Other names: N/A
The Red Active Camo is located between a tree and a rock, which also has a BR leaning up against it and two Plasma Grenades. The Blue Camo is a flat surface with a cylinder and an antenna. There’s a BR and two Plasma Grenades here, too.

Rocket Launcher Spawn

Other names: Rocket Spawn, Rockets, Territory 4
The Rocket Launcher Spawn is located on the outer left of the rock formation that protects the base, nearest Camo Spawn.

Middle Rocks

Other names: Mid Rocks
This is a cluster of three smaller boulders where a Plasma Grenade, a Frag Grenade, and a Spiker are located.

Red/Blue Battle Rifle Rock

Other names: Red BR Rock, Blue BR Rock
This is the large boulder located on the right of the rock formation that protects the base, nearest Missile Silo 1.

Missile Silo 3

Other names: N/A
Located in Upper Back Blue, Missile Silo 3 is where players will spawn. A Mongoose is located here.

Mid Map/Laser Spawn

Other names: N/A
The Spartan Laser spawns in Mid Map, which is also a good pathway for vehicles.

Missile Silo 2

Other names: Launch Pad 2, Silo 2
In front of the side door to Blue Base, you will find a Bubble Shield and a Needler.

Enhanced Knowledge

Advanced Tactics for Team Slayer

With Standoff’s small size, it is easy to take control of the map by simply controlling the Spartan Laser and keeping enemy vehicles at bay. If your team is controlling the Laser, use your Warthog to cause some major damage; however, try to take the outside paths to steer clear of Power Drains and Plasma Grenades.
Work with your team to hold a base or position wherever you may spawn. Do not run out in the middle of the map with no cover. You will probably get team-killed.
Generally, do not rush into the middle of the map. You will die. Hold back, wait for better weapons such as the BR to spawn, and use the cover to your advantage.
Controlling the map on the opposing team’s boulders is extremely advantageous for Team Slayer and Objective games. Also, using the boulders for cover allows you to see almost every spot on the map, every vehicle driving by, and every person on either team. Use the Spartan Laser or Machinegun Turret to support your team.
Short-range weapons usually come in handy for enclosed areas such as within Blue and Red Base.
Have no more than two people in the Warthog at one time. Unless you are using the Warthog as transportation, do not use that third seat. You are unable to fire accurately from that seat, and if the Warthog is destroyed, you give the opponent a triple kill! Use the Power Slide ability for quick turns without rolling.
As soon as the match begins, Grenade where you think the enemy Warthog is. This will flip their Warthog and possibly destroy it.
Grab the Power Drain to take out Warthogs whenever you have the chance. Also work as a team—you won’t win on this map by yourself.
If you are on one side of the ample rocks on this map and your enemy is on the other side, throw a Grenade to take out their shields, then run in the opposite direction of your throw and kill your opponent when you meet them coming around the rock.

Tactics for One Flag, Multiflag, One Bomb, and Assault

Defense

Place your players wisely on the map. Do not completely desert the base to capture the power weapons, but do not have everybody hide in the base waiting for the eventual attack from the bomb carrier or flag bandit. Obtain the Spartan Laser so you can take out incoming vehicles, and use the Machinegun Turret to kill footmen before they get into your base. Leave a few teammates inside the base to protect the exits. Inside the base, use short-range power weapons such as the Shotgun or use dual-wielding Plasmas Pistols with Spikers and Maulers.
For Multiflag games, try to balance the number of players between those who are protecting your flag and those who are capturing the other team’s flag.
Watch out for Mongooses and Warthogs coming from the map’s outer edges; use the Spartan Laser, Power Drain, and Plasma Pistols on them.
If your opponent steals your flag, consider taking a Mongoose to cut off the other team before they make with the flag.
Remember, you cannot see the enemy’s bomb or your stolen flag when the other team has possession of them. An optional and amusing tactic for protecting your base from being bombed or your flag from being stolen is to pile a bunch of vehicles on your flag or bomb region. This will make capturing the flag or planting the bomb complicated, because the other team will not be able to find it through the mess of vehicles!
Have your team grab the Shotgun, Maulers, and Power Drain to protect your flag or base from bombing groups hiding near doorways.

Offense

Never try to take the flag or plant the bomb by yourself. Coordinate an attack with your teammates. Have a team member or two attempt to take control of the defending team and use the Spartan Laser effectively.
Drive the Warthog or Mongoose with the flag or bomb in the passenger seat. If driven correctly, the Warthog and Mongoose can get your team into the opponent’s base, capture the flag or plant the bomb, and get out within minutes. All three seats in the Warthog should be full (a driver, a Turret operator, and a footman to plant the bomb or capture the flag).
Depending on your team’s size, you may also want to take a fully loaded Mongoose with your Warthog so you may overwhelm the other team.
Crouch-walking makes you invisible to enemy radar. When storming the base, use crouch-walking to sneak in undetected with the bomb or to grab the flag when the other team is not looking.
If you have possession of the bomb or flag, do not hang on to it for dear life when someone is trying to kill you. You can get an instant kill with a bomb or flag melee, but sometimes it is best to drop your load and fight off the other team with your weapons on hand. You can pick up your load after.
When playing Assault or One Bomb, do not abandon your planted bomb. Stay around and protect it so the other team does not disarm it. If necessary, stay until the bomb detonates. Throw Grenades or Power Drains on the ticking time bomb when the other team attempts to disarm it.
For CTF games, when you have just snatched the flag, determine whether you will proceed on foot or take the Warthog. If your team has control of the Spartan Laser, consider taking the Warthog. If the other team controls the Laser, you may want to go on foot. Send a vehicle as a decoy.
If you are going on foot, try to “hop” from cover to cover. Take the outside path, going from Side Door to Missile Silos, covering yourself from place to place.
Camo is great for sneaking with the bomb into bases and taking out enemy Rockets. Camo is also useful for defense if the opposing team has control of the Spartan Laser.

Sniper/Ambush Locations

Boxes

On top of Red Base is a series of crates and boxes. This makes a great sniping position, as it gives a complete view across the map and hosts enough room for a few players to snipe from. Strafe in and out of sight between the crates.

Blue Silo

On top of Blue Base is an elevated silo. It gives no cover as a sniping position, but you can evade very easily by dropping off and hiding behind the arms of the silo or dodging into the base. The elevation gives you the ability to snipe anyone trying to gain position on your base.

Red Invis

The Invis located on the Red Side is planted between a rock and a tree. Strafe in between the rock and tree while sniping and waiting for Invisibility to spawn. The tree is located on a small hill, which you can also use to your advantage as cover.

Side Walls

The sides of the map are very shaded and dark. Use this path to snipe from while traveling from base to base. With your back against the wall, you will be slightly camouflaged in the environment. It’s best to use this area only while traveling and for short durations, because your foe can easily spot you here.

Mongoose

On the right side of each base is a Mongoose spawn. There is also a tunnel that leads back into the base. If you stand in the tunnel exit, you can peek your head out next to the Mongoose and snipe across the map. Strafe behind the Mongoose to protect yourself.
