Tactical Knowledge
Ghost Town consists of both an indoor and outdoor environment. You are placed in the ruins of an old water plant, so your cover isn’t always within a closed area. The blue team will spawn in the plant/Warehouse, while the red team will spawn outside behind the greenhouse. The map is separated by a two-story structure.
There are many places for both defensive and offensive placement, and the water pipes can come in handy if you need a place to hide. Each spawn point for the team is equipped with Battle Rifles.
The Warehouse/plant is one of the major spawn points for Team Slayer. Blue team usually spawns here, and if playing Capture the Flag (CTF), your flag will also spawn here.
There are two main floors. If you head up the stairs, the connecting bridge will lead you to the middle structure. To the opposite side of the stairs is the Shotgun location.
The House has multiple entry points and is connected to each location via bridge or openings. From the heat map, you can see it is a high-traffic area.
Snipe Green is where the Sniper Rifle will spawn. There are three main entry/exit points. One entry point leads you from Hideout to the second floor of Snipe Green; there is a second entry point off the bridge that connects to the second floor of the House, and the final entry point is through the window next to the Sniper Rifle spawn point.
Offense
You want to have control and not let the opposing team spread out where they can pick you off. The power weapons are key, especially the Rockets; if you can get the opposing team together inside the house, you can easily take them out with one or two Rocket launches or with the Sniper Rifle.
Stay up top to ambush below and keep an eye on player movements.
At the match’s start, head for the power weapons and special equipment to take control of the map.
Try and drive you enemies into the confines of the house.
Most teams try to apply pressure from the outside surrounding area to force the opposing team together.
Defense
Getting control of the middle structure can be valuable, as you will have access to all points of the map and can view other player movements; however, it can also be your downfall if you do not keep track of your enemies.
Enhanced Knowledge
In Oddball games, the Hole just below the plant is a good place to hide. You can easily tuck yourself into the corner and fight off attacks from enemies.
The Tunnels are also a great place to hide in Oddball. With the facility in ruins, there is always a place to hide from enemies.
In Oddball and Assault, avoiding the House helps you accumulate points. Maneuvering around the plant can give you valuable time, and taking the Shotgun path when making you way outside can provide cover.
The Attic is an excellent area to sit while holding the ball; it is difficult to reach and difficult to fire upon. You must use the scaffolds to reach the Attic.
Have your teammates hold the Scaffolds at all times to prevent the other team from reaching the ball carrier. If all of your teammates are in place, the only other way to reach and kill the ball carrier is by way of the Catwalk, Needler Level, Above Needler Level, and Scaffold Cubby. Make sure your teams hold those areas or destroy anybody that comes out of them. If your ball carrier dies, the ball will remain in the Attic, safely away from the other team. Just destroy any nearby enemies and replace the ball carrier with one of the men holding the scaffolds. Always make sure to replace the man at the scaffolds.
Sniping and Ambush Locations
Sniper Window
In the greenhouse, where the sniper spawns, is a good place to pick off opposing enemies as they leave the plant or enter the middle structure from the ramp. There are also two other access points to your location: behind you and to the side. You can be ambushed here, so always be on the lookout.
Ambush Corner
Tucking yourself away in this corner gives you a sight line to both the bridge that connects the greenhouse to the middle structure and the bridge that connects the Warehouse to the middle structure.
Ambush Tree
Tucking yourself away in this tree trunk can give you a couple seconds’ advantage over any unsuspecting enemies entering the area.
Rocket Launch
Picking up Rockets and heading to the hallway between Overshield and Rocket Spawn is a great way to pick off the opposition as they leave the Warehouse. The hallway gives you a direct view of the Warehouse.
