Call-Out Locations
Beach
Other Names:
N/A
The Beach is the offensive spawn for Capture the Flag and Bomb games. One end of the beach contains a Warthog, two Mongooses, a Ghost, and the Bomb spawn for One Bomb. Near these vehicles are two staircases leading up to the seawall (the large wall separating the beach from the interior of the map). You can take the vehicles to the other side of the beach through the archway, which leads you into the map’s interior. You can also scale the bottom of the seawall to find a little walkway or tunnel leading to the archway.
Seawall
Other Names:
Territory 1
The seawall divides the beach from the interior of the map. Atop the staircases on the seawall are two pathways. One leads to your left and the other to your right. Near these pathways lie two Battle Rifles, an Assault Rifle, a Spiker, and two Frag Grenades.
Seawall Windows
Other names:
N/A
Just above the Battle Rifles, you will see a rocky path leading to the seawall windows. The windows provide a good sniping position into the interior of the map. There are also two Spike Grenades lying at the foot of the window.
Seawall Cubby and BR Window
Other names:
N/A
Taking the left pathway from the seawall, you will find the pathway splits in two. The left side leads to the seawall cubby, which spawns a Bubble Shield and a Magnum. The right path leads to BR Window and BR staircase. BR Window has a little window with a Battle Rifle resting below it and a staircase. Looking through the window, you can see a large open expanse with a huge rotating wheel. The stairway leads out to this open expanse.
Jumping out of the seawall cubby, you will land in Froman Rocks and a small structure called Camp Froman.
Camp Froman
Other names:
Froman, Top Froman, Bottom Froman, Territory 3
Camp Froman is a small, two-level platform with stairs running up both sides. There is a hole in the rear of the top level; this allows you to drop into the bottom level. This platform is called Camp Froman because of the small plaque with the words “Froman” mounted on the wall on the top level. The top and bottom levels are called Top Froman and Bottom Froman.
Top Froman
Other names:
Froman 2, Territory 3
At the top of the staircases on the seawall side lies a Battle Rifle. Inside Top Froman you will find a Sniper Rifle, four fusion coils, and two Frag Grenades.
Bottom Froman
Other names:
Froman 1
If you fall down the hole in the rear of Top Froman, you will land inside Bottom Froman, where you will find three doors. One to your left, which leads to the generators; one to your right, which leads to Froman Rock; and one straight in front of you, which leads to the wheel. Below your feet lie Brute Shot and the Gravity Lift (which you can use to return to Top Froman by placing it beneath the hole). To the right you will find a Spiker and two Spike Grenades. To the left lies a Plasma Pistol. The door directly in front of you has another fusion coil, which you can use to destroy approaching enemies (but do not stand too close because it can be used against you).
Froman Rocks
Other names:
N/A
This is the small group of rocks outside Camp Froman. Two Frag Grenades spawn next to the door leading into Bottom Froman.
Catwalk
Other names:
Catwalk Stairs
The set of stairs on the base side (catwalk stairs) on Top Froman leads to a catwalk that traverses the side of the map. The catwalk contains seven fusion coils and an SMG. From the catwalk, you can see down into the generators and can view a large part of the map. This is a good spot from which to snipe, but it has little to no cover. At the end of the catwalk, there is a hole in the grating that leads down to the generators.
Generators
Other names
: Pillars
The generators are the large pillarlike structures in the open area between the Garage and Camp Froman. There are two sets: a set of three and a set of two. Behind the generators below the catwalk on the small cemented area lie two Frag Grenades. Only pass through this area to reach the base or escape with a flag; the low ground here makes it very easy for enemies to pick you off.
Garage
Other names:
N/A
If you are standing in the generators, there are two large openings into the base area. The one to your left leads to the garage. Just at the opening are several barriers or gates that you can open by using the gate control in the base. This room is referred to as the “garage,” which contains one Brute Shot and leads into a large room called the “base.”
Above Garage
Other names:
N/A
If you are on the catwalk and pass the hole that drops down into the generators, you are in the area called “Above Garage.” This area will lead you into the top level of the base.
Base
Other names : Base, Bottom Side Froman, Bottom Side Bubble, gate control, loading bay, Froman Side Turret, Bubble Side Turret, Territory 5
The base is the defensive spawn for Capture the Flag and One Bomb games. The base is a multilevel area with multiple stairways and entrances leading in and out. It is your defensive stronghold to protect your flag from thieves or to protect your base from enemy bombs. The bottom level of the base is heavily equipped for defense with two Assault Rifles, two Battle Rifles, two Frag Grenades, an SMG, a Spiker, a Plasma Pistol, a Magnum, and three fusion coils. There are two small doorways leading outside the base and one very large gated opening called Loading Bay. The two bottom doors lead to Bottom Side Froman and Bottom Side Bubble. There are three staircases leading to the top level. The top of the staircase nearest to the garage has a Battle Rifle and an entryway to Above Garage and the base’s top level. The staircase directly opposite the garage has a Power Drain and breaks off to the second level of the base and a miniature catwalk above your head.
Bottom Side Froman Bubble
Other names:
N/A
The two doorways from the base’s bottom level lead to these two small rooms. The side nearest Camp Froman is Bottom Side Froman, and the side nearest Bubble Tower is Bottom Side Bubble. Offensive teams will use these doorways a lot; oftentimes, in Objective games, enemies will camp in there while waiting for their team. So check them periodically to make sure there aren’t any lurkers!
Base 2
Other names:
N/A
The third staircase between the doors leading to Bottom Side Froman and Bottom Side Bubble will lead you to the base’s second floor. This staircase has two Spike Grenades and a Brute Shot and will lead you to Base 2. At the top of the staircase, you can take one of the two doorways to your right or left; both go to the gate controls. Holding the right bumper at the gate controls opens the gates sitting at the bottom of the loading bay and garage. The two doors behind you to your right and left, which contain a Spiker on both sides, lead to Froman Side Turret and Bubble Side Turret. The hole blown into the wall at the far side of Base 2 leads outside to the Bubble Tower. Directly behind you, you can continue to follow the stairs out to Spartan Laser Spawn.
Froman Turret and Bubble Turret
Other names
: Froman Side Turret, Bubble Side Turret
These are the two platforms from the doorways in Base 2. One leads to Camp Froman and the other to Bubble Tower. In the covered entrances on each side, there is a Needler and two Assault Rifles (one on each side of the platforms). Use these Turrets for defense in an Objective game and as backup to take out vehicles. However, if the other team has a sniper, you are an easy target sitting still on a Turret.
Bubble Tower
Other names
: N/A
The Bubble Tower is the structure between the seawall and the base. It has two levels—Top Bubble and Bottom Bubble—and a small group of rocks next to it.
Top Bubble
Other names
: Bubble 2
This is the upper level of the Bubble Tower. It contains the Bubble Shield and leads to the Wheel Bridge. On the way up to Top Bubble from Shotgun Spawn, you will find a Battle Rifle lying against the wall. This is a good vantage point to watch for people trying to rush your base. Grab the Shotgun from the wheel end and take it to Top Bubble; easily kill people walking through to the base.
Bottom Bubble
Other names
: Bubble 1
The lower level of Bubble Tower contains a Brute Shot and leads to Bottom Wheel. Directly outside the door leading to the wheel are two Spike Grenades and a fusion coil.
Bubble Rocks
Other names
: N/A
The small group of rocks next to Bubble Tower leading to the base is Bubble Rocks. People may crouch behind these rocks, so always make sure the area is clear if you’re defending.
Shotgun Spawn
Other names
: Territory 2
The small landing between Sniper Spawn and Bubble Tower is called Shotgun Spawn, which over looks the Wheel Courtyard. This is the spawn point for Red Team. The Shotgun is at the top of the stairs, coming from the archway. Near the bottom of the stairs, close to the rotating wheel, lies a Needler. A Spiker rests against the column in the middle of Shotgun Spawn. Leaning up against Bottom Bubble is an Assault Rifle and two Frag Grenades.
Sniper Spawn
Other names
: N/A
This pathway is between Shotgun Spawn and the seawall and is directly above the archway. Sniper Spawn contains one of the two Sniper Rifles and has a good vantage point of Camp Froman and Bubble Turret. The sniper stairs take you back to the seawall.
Wheel
Other names
: N/A
The wheel is the large rotating fan set in the center of the map. It has two levels and contains Wheel Bridge and allows you to see down into the Wheel Courtyard.
Top Wheel
Other names
: Wheel 2, Territory 4
You can reach the Top Wheel (the smaller wheel in the center of the large wheel) from Top Bubble. To get to Top Wheel from Top Bubble, you must release the bridge by performing a melee attack on the small box on the gate. This will lower the gate leading to Top Wheel. You can also reach Top Bubble from Laser Spawn and can drop in one of the holes in the axis of the wheel to reach the Active Camo. You also have a vantage point on enemies in the Wheel Courtyard trying to make their way into the base.
Bottom Wheel
Other names
: N/A
A Shotgun spawns at the wheel’s bottom section, near the far end (the end nearest Camp Froman, referred to as Wheel End).. An SMG spawns on the side opposite Wheel End. It is a good idea not to stay here, as it is the lowest point of the map, making you vulnerable to attack.
Wheel Courtyard
Other names:
N/A
A Needler is in the open expanse between the wheel and the seawall, lying up against the wall of Bottom Wheel nearest Bubble Tower. It is recommended that you only drive through here; if you walk, you will probably get sniped or taken out by people on higher ground. You can take BR Staircase toward the seawall or the staircase up to Shotgun Spawn if you need cover.
Wheel Bridge
Other names:
N/A
You can let down the bridge to reach Top Wheel; to release it, melee it or shoot it. Releasing the bridge will make a lot of noise, so it’s not the stealthiest approach.
Laser Spawn
Other names:
N/A
The Laser platform is between Top Wheel and the base. The Spartan Laser spawns here, and you can take out vehicles and people running into the base. There isn’t very much cover, so be careful and retreat into the base if necessary.
Under Laser
Other names
: N/A
The area underneath Laser Spawn contains two fusion coils. People will walk through here to get into Bottom Side Bubble and Bottom Side Froman. You can easily snipe people walking through here from Top Froman or the catwalk. There are two Frag Grenades lying against the wall in between Bottom Side Froman and Bottom Side Bubble. Next to the entryway to Bottom Side Bubble are two fusion coils.
Tactical Knowledge
Good advice for most Team Slayer or Objective games is to stay with your team. Do not run off by yourself and attack. Beware of your surroundings; do not rush into groups of enemies in which you are outnumbered. This is a sure way of ending up with multiple members of the other team firing on you. Always keep with your teammates to watch each other’s back.
Use “team killing” tactics. If one of your teammates is being fired upon, fire at the assailant. They will appreciate it when you have saved their lives, and you will appreciate it when they have saved yours.
Prioritize the weapons you pick up. Since this map is mostly a large open area, we recommend going for mid- and long-range weapons such as the Sniper Rifle, Spartan Laser, and Battle Rifle.
Usually controlling the base, using the Spartan Laser at Laser Spawn, and taking cover in the base while shields are low will be a great advantage for your game.
Enhanced Knowledge
Team Slayer Tactics
Work with your team to hold a base or position wherever you spawn. For example, if your team spawns near Camp Froman, stay there and hold that area once you have control. Take out the enemy team by communicating to your team which position you want to move to and move together.
Stay out of the courtyards or anywhere on the ground. There are many high points on this map, and if you are running around on the ground, it won’t be long before you die. If you spawn on the ground, your first priority is getting to higher ground.
Always use call-outs. Even if you die, you can alert your team to where the enemy is , and your team can take advantage before the foe’s shields recharge.
One Flag/One Bomb Tactics
Defense
Place your players wisely on the map. Do not completely desert the base to capture the power weapons, but also do not have everybody hide in the base waiting for the eventual attack from the bomb carrier or flag bandit. Send a few to patrol the area, and get the Laser to take out incoming vehicles and the Sniper Rifle to take out footmen before they get into your base.
The Turret can also help quickly destroy a group of footmen or a Warthog. Leave a few teammates inside the base to protect the many entryways. Preferably, use short-range power weapons such as the Shotgun or dual-wielding SMGs or Spikers.
Watch out for Mongooses and Warthogs coming from the beach. Use the Spartan Laser and Turrets to take them out. Also protect the gate controls to prevent vehicles from driving into your base.
If your flag is taken, consider taking a Mongoose to the beach to cut off the other team before they score the flag.
Remember, you will not be able to see the enemy’s bomb or your stolen flag when the other team picks them up. So communicate with your team the direction the flag carrier is going.
If you are planting the bomb or capturing the flag, use the Active Camo.
Offense
Never try taking the flag or planting the bomb by yourself. Coordinate an attack with your teammates. Have a sniper attempt to take out the opposing sniper and laser.
Driving the Warthog or Mongoose with your bomb carrier or flag stealer in the passenger seat is the recommended strategy. The Warthog and Mongoose can get your team into the other base, capture the flag or plant the bomb, and get out within minutes. All three seats in the Warthog should be full (a driver, a Turret shooter, and a footman to plant the bomb or capture the flag).
Taking the Warthog requires teamwork and communication. You need to have your sniper or other teammates communicate if the Laser has been taken by the other team.
If you take the Warthog, do not drive through the wheel. Instead, go around the wheel in front of Camp Froman, into the generator area. This way the Laser won’t have time to tag you. Exit the vehicle quickly so the Laser doesn’t jump down from Laser Spawn and destroy your vehicle.
Crouch-walking makes you invisible to enemy radar. When you are storming the base, this can be an excellent method for sneaking in undetected with the bomb or grabbing the flag when the other team is not looking.
If you are the bomb carrier or have just stolen the flag, try not to hang on to the bomb/flag for dear life when someone is trying to kill you. You can get an instant kill with a bomb/flag melee, but if enemies aren’t in close quarters, it’s best to drop your load and fight off the other team with your weapons on hand.
Once you obtain the flag, you need to know whether the opposing team is using the Laser. If it isn’t, then take a vehicle back to the beach. If they are using the Laser, then you should walk to the flag. Communicate with your team on the enemy team’s location to determine which way is best to walk the flag.
When planting the bomb, do not desert the area. Stay around and protect the bomb so the other team does not disarm it. Throw Grenades or Power Drains on the bomb when the other team attempts to disarm it. You may leave the base or take cover when the time reaches five seconds—that is the time it will take the enemy to disarm the bomb. If they have less than five seconds, it’s not possible for the opposing team to disarm it.
Territory Tactics
Defense
Defend your five territories within the rounds, trying to keep the other team’s score as low as possible. Work with your team and concentrate on the territories that are being taken.
Note how the other team is playing (for example, are they sending all of their team to one territory, or are they spreading out to many territories?). Also, watch for people on vehicles trying to sneak into the base while you’re distracted with the farther territories.
Try rushing to Territory 1 on the seawall (take a Mongoose, as they are faster and more discreet). Players often capture Territory 1 and become complacent, because they don’t think anyone is going to stop them. If you can fight them off for the first minute or two of the game, it can be quite discouraging for them and gives them less time to capture the other territories before the round ends.
As always, communication is key. If you see a territory flashing, immediately announce it to the entire team; the more people that storm that territory with Grenades and shots, the less chance the other team has of capturing it.
Territory 1 will probably be taken eventually. After this, you can have easy visibility of most territories from Territory 4. Someone else should be protecting Territory 2. If you see an X (indicating a teammate’s death) and have positioned yourself with a midrange weapon, you should be able to run over to Wheel Bridge to take out the foe. Having the higher ground will give you the advantage, and your foe’s shields should be down from the battle with your teammate.
If you are seizing a territory and it’s almost captured but you see a group of opponents rushing you, throw down a Bubble Shield (if you have one) to get the last few seconds to capture the territory.
Offense
Try to capture the most amount of territories in the given amount of time. You will spawn closest to Territory 1; always go for this territory first but watch for people possibly rushing from the other team. Listen up and watch your radar for people entering from BR Stairs.
Once you have Territory 1, you can either split up to Territory 2 and 3 or try to send all your team to capture one territory at a time. Keep in mind the more players on a territory, the faster it is captured. Don’t put more than two players in at a time or you are just giving the other team a triple kill.
Try to reach the base on a small fast vehicle. Before you go for the territory, open the gate. If you’re lucky, the other team has left for weapons and farther territories and you can capture it without dying. If you’re not that lucky, take another small vehicle when you respawn and drive it into the garage this time. If you can, take someone on the backseat of the Mongoose; you will be more likely to succeed. Make sure to get off the vehicle in the garage. You don’t want to be so obvious driving right in. The garage entrance gives you a good view of people who you need to take out in the base before capturing the territory.
Sniping
Above Camp Froman
Summon the Grav Lift at the top of the catwalk stairs. Step on the Grav Lift and land on the steel bracket sticking out of the wall. Walk up it and step on the copper pipe. Follow the pipe against the wall until you reach the little nook above Camp Froman. This area is almost directly underneath the area that says “Section K2433.” This spot has an excellent view and is great to snipe from. However, there is not a lot of cover, so you may have to leave if you are discovered.
Top Seawall
The walkway in between the seawall and Sniper Spawn has an access you can use to reach the roof of the sniper stairs section. The wall next to the Sniper Rifle is crumbled away. You can step on this wall and follow it up to the roof. This is a common sniping position and gives you a good view of the map. Players commonly call this place “top of seawall.” You can also jump onto the right palm tree (nearest Sniper Spawn) and snipe from there and can get atop the seawall from Seawall Side. There is another crumbled wall to the left of the Battle Rifles. Get on this wall and scale the top of Sniper Windows, then jump onto the top of the seawall. If you need to recharge your shields while sniping, you can run to the back of the roof.
Top Bubble Tower
Ride the wheel spoke to the top of Bubble Tower. Stand inside the bottom of the wheel and ride the spoke or fan upward. Once the wheel spoke is horizontal to the ground, back up to get some running room. Run forward and jump into the little nook sliced into the wheel. From there, jump from the square metal railing to the wires on top of Bubble Tower. Do not move off the wires or you will slide off the roof.
Another way to get atop Bubble Tower that is easier and requires less time than the previous method is to throw a Grav Lift on the cement handrail on the stairs that go from Bottom Bubble to Top Bubble. Jump on the Grav Lift and let it lift you up once. At the top of the lift, move a little to the right or left to get a slightly larger lift. Allow yourself to lower back down. Let yourself be lifted up a second time. At the height of the second lift, jump again and move yourself over onto the wires.
