Weapons and Armor

Arrow

Location Gathered With Uses
Crafted item Skeletons can drop Arrows Fired from Bows or Dispensers

Arrows are shot from Bows or Dispensers to deal damage to enemies at range. These attacks inflict one to five damage, depending on how well-charged the attack.

Arrows fired into regular blocks can be retrieved if you’re quick about it. Use this as a way to recover Arrows used while practicing, or misses from ranged combat.

Boots

Location Gathered With Uses
Crafted item Crafted Damage reduction

Boots are a type of armor. They’re made at a Crafting Table by using four pieces of either Leather or metal. Diamond Boots offer the best protection, but Iron Boots are pretty darn good and cost a lot less in terms of time to gather the materials.

Once your Boots are crafted, go into your inventory to put them on. Your character’s appearance then changes and damage taken from physical sources is reduced.

Bow

Location Gathered With Uses
Crafted item Crafted Ranged combat

Bows are either crafted or gathered from defeated Skeletons (as a rare drop). Gather materials for Bow crafting by breaking Wood into Sticks and by killing Spiders to gather extra String.

Once this weapon is complete, equip it and keep Arrows in your inventory for use. You can deal decent damage at long range, as long as you’re good at hitting your targets!

Chestplate

Location Gathered With Uses
Crafted item Crafted Damage reduction

Craft a Chestplate to dramatically reduce the damage taken from physical sources. This type of armor requires the most Leather or pieces of metal, so it’s costly to craft or replace. However, it also offers the most protection out of all your armor pieces.

Once completed, go into your inventory to equip this item and start gaining its benefits. Diamond Chestplates are the best in the game, but Iron Chestplates are suitable for almost all fights.

Helmet

Location Gathered With Uses
Crafted item Crafted Damage reduction

Helmets are put together with five pieces of Leather or metal. Go into your inventory to equip them. Using armor reduces the damage taken from physical sources, such as melee attacks, Arrows, and explosions.

Leggings

Location Gathered With Uses
Crafted item Crafting Damage reduction

Leggings are the fourth type of armor. Put together seven pieces of Leather or metal, and use these to protect your character’s legs. Go into your inventory, equip them, and enjoy your increased survivability.

Sword

Location Gathered With Uses
Crafted item Crafted Melee attacks

Swords are made with a Stick and two pieces of metal. Early in the game, you’re likely to use Stone Swords fairly often, but switch to Iron Swords once you have just a couple pieces of Iron Ingots to spare; these improved blades last a long time and kill enemies quickly. You won’t need to switch to Diamond Swords for a good while.

Once you have a Sword, use it in close-range combat to kill enemies. Attack them as you retreat to ensure your character gets in multiple attacks while your opponents suffer from knockback and miss opportunities to counter.
