It will forever be known as the “Milan Miracle.” On the night of April 16, 2007, in Milan, Italy, Mr. McMahon issued a challenge to anyone in the audience to battle the reigning Intercontinental Champion, Umaga, in a title match. As expected, no one was itching to face the Samoan Bulldozer.
Enter Santino Marella.
Marella, perched in the front row, not only volunteered, he also got off to a surprisingly quick start. After a sprinkle of divine intervention, the Italian became the new Intercontinental Champion in one of the most improbable moments in Raw history. Such is the career of Santino Marella.
Although he has usually proven the least likely—albeit funniest—Superstar in most matches, Marella has earned his share of championships, as both an individual and a tag partner.
A favorite with the “Santino Universe,” the lovable Italian has always been a true showman. Today, whether he’s loved or hated, with Marella in a match the WWE Universe knows they’re going to be entertained.

Santino Marella has brought a bit of taunting silliness to the WWE, and that is why you want to play as him. There’s something about the Santino Cobra Finisher that is satisfying in its ridiculousness.
