You are switching from being one of the Rangers on the ground to being the gunner of one of the Apaches that came to the rescue at Objective Betty.

1. Test Fire Weapons

As the gunner for your Apache, your job is to identify and then destroy hostile targets. Your pilot will do all the flying for you, so concentrate on using the weapons systems to cause as much damage as possible.

You have several different weapons available to you. As you are flying towards your first target, test fire the 30mm cannon. It is slaved to your visor, so it will fire at whatever you look at and center under the targeting reticule.

As you fly over some technicals below, try to destroy them with the 30mm.

Next, test out the Hydra rockets. These unguided rockets only fire straight ahead.

The 30mm cannon is more than capable of tearing up technicals and even structures. You can target enemies to either side of the Apache as well as directly ahead. If you can see it, you can kill it.

2. Destroy Mortar Teams

The Special Forces team has located some enemy mortar teams up in the hills. There are three different mortar positions that you must destroy. For these targets, you will be using the Target Acquisition and Designation System or TADS.

This lets you detect and target enemies at a distance in all types of visual conditions.

As you are viewing the enemy below, Gunfighter 11 will designate a target for you.

Once you get a solid targeting box, move the reticule into the box and hold down the secondary fire button until the bar at the top fills and the target is locked. Then release the button to fire a Hellfire missile.

This guided missile is fire-and-forget, so as soon as it leaves the rails, you can begin going after other targets. Use the 30mm gun to finish off any tangos near the position.

Move the TADS to the far right and down a bit to locate the second mortar team. Once again, Gunfighter 11 will designate the target. Lock on and fire another Hellfire. Two mortars down, one to go.

Finally, move the TADS to the bottom and to the left to find the last mortar. Lock on and fire to complete this objective.

Use the TADS and Hellfire missiles to take out the mortar teams from a safe distance.

3. Clear Village of Combatants

You receive intel on some trucks filled with weapons headed for a village. As you approach the village, keep an eye—and your targeting reticule—focused on the bridge.

As soon as you see the white trucks crossing the bridge. Let loose with a barrage of 30mm cannon fire and take out those trucks.

Your pilot will then circle around the village. The hostiles inside will open fire. The village is fair game as a target. Use the 30mm cannon to attack tangos. Especially watch out for those with RPGs.

Take them out first before they can fire on your Apache.

Fire Hydra rockets at all of the buildings to level the village and prevent it from being used as a Taliban base in the future.

Stop those trucks from entering the village!

There is a fortified building in the center of the village. Its gray color stands out among all of the brown buildings. Fire lots of rockets at this structure.

As you do, the tangos inside will launch RPGs at you. Keep firing until this structure is destroyed. Then mop up any remaining enemies to finish clearing out the village. During the attack, Gunfighter 11 took some damage from an RPG.

Their weapons have been knocked out; however, they can still fly and designate targets for you.

This building is a tough nut to crack. Hostiles are holed up inside with lots of RPGs. Take it out to clear the village.

4. Destroy Mortar Teams on the Whale

As your pilot flies toward the next target, Gunfighter 11 has detected some more enemy mortar teams. When you pop up over one hill, you will find a hostile camp. Blast away at the technicals as you fly past.

Gunfighter 11 will then designate an enemy mortar position. Move your reticule into the targeting box and let loose with a Hellfire missile. Fire another missile at a second target Gunfighter 11 finds for you.

You have to be quick on the trigger in order to take out many targets of opportunity as you fly past them.

5. Destroy Embedded Mortar Position

Gunfighter 11 has found an enemy camp with dug-in mortars. It is defended by lots of tangos, some of whom have RPGs and are not afraid to use them. Shoot to the side with your 30mm cannon as you fly by.

When the Apache is facing targets, launch rockets. Destroy the mortars covered with camouflage netting. Then, as you fly up over the top of the mountain, look for a Hellfire target box.

Gunfighter 11 is designating an RPG position behind some rocks. Fire a missile to destroy it before it can fire. Mow down other tangos as they scatter about.

Fire a second Hellfire as soon as you get a lock on another targeting box. Mop up any remaining tangos with the 30mm cannon.

Target the netting with rockets to destroy the embedded mortars.

6. Destroy Embedded Mortar Position

As the two Apaches are flying back towards base, Gunfighter 11 takes a hit. There is a hidden camp on another mountain top. Gunfighter 11 will designate one of the mortar positions for you to hit.

If you can launch a Hellfire quickly, do so. Otherwise, focus on taking out the antiaircraft artillery as quickly as possible before it can cause a lot of damage to the Apaches.

Destroy the technicals as well as other hostiles. Gunfighter 11 will designate another dug-in mortar, so send a Hellfire at it. Clean out the rest of the hostiles before you return to base. You will be awarded the Bad Guy Jamboree achievement/trophy for your efforts.

Take out that AAA on the mountaintop before it can shoot you down. Then go after the mortars.
