Use the weapon sights to increase your accuracy when firing at enemies.
Now that you understand how to get to the enemy, it is vital that you know how to neutralize the hostiles before they kill you. During missions, you will be armed with a variety of weapons. They range from assault rifles to grenades and even a knife. As you find enemies, your job is to kill them.
You will not be taking any prisoners. While each weapon has some variation, most of the firearms operate in the same way. When walking around, you will see a crosshair reticule in the center of the screen. This shows you the approximate area your bullets will hit.
Firing in this mode is not accurate—especially at medium or long range—because you are essentially firing from the hip without using the weapon's sights to aim.
To increase your accuracy, hold down the sights button. This will bring the weapon up to your shoulder and you will be looking through the iron sights or scope, depending on which weapon you are carrying.
When looking through the sights, you move slower and lose some of your peripheral vision. An experienced soldier moves around with the weapon lowered and then quickly raises it up to look through the sights before firing.
