Hail
Description: After throwing your opponent backward into the corner, you will need a long-ranged attack in order to capitalize on your throw’s combo opportunity. Use the long range on your Ice Lance to convert the backward throw into that combo opportunity. In this combo, rather than go for raw damage you opt for a pressure set up that will allow for offensive follow ups as your opponent gets up.
Forward Throw Combo:

Heavy Puddle Punch
Description: In this combo, you have your opponent’s back to the wall and throw him or her forward, giving more options because you are still right next to your opponent. At this range you can follow up with any normal attack to keep your opponent guessing and to avoid getting combo broken. In this combo you decide to end with damage rather than ending for a pressure set up.
Using Shadow Puddle Punch for Short Damaging Combos
Combo Example: (Release Hail) Heavy Cold Shoulder ![]()
![]()
Shadow Puddle Punch Ender
Ice Lance
Description: In this combo, you release Hail as you execute your Heavy Cold Shoulder. Follow up Cold Shoulder with
Auto Double, then go into your Puddle Punch damage Ender and finish off the launched opponent with your Ice Lance. This is a very short combo that still does great damage by ending with your Shadow damage Ender. The reason Hail starts is to ensure Cold Shoulder stays safe if blocked. Having to block the Hail following behind you also ensures your opponent has to keep blocking, giving you more time to recover and the option to either retreat or go on the offensive while your opponent is coming out of his or her block stun.

Heavy Puddle Punch Linker
Puddle Punch Damage Ender
Description: The video example begins by showing a missed Counter Breaker while performing a ranged combo. This is to show just how far the opponent is after the failed Counter Breaker. Basically, Glacius can avoid being punished for a missed Counter Breaker while performing ranged combos. This allows you to abuse damaging Heavy Auto Doubles and Heavy Linkers in ranged combos because your opponent knows you can Counter Break with no risk.
Ranged Combos

Heavy Shatter Linker
Shatter Ender
Description: The opponent is hit by Hail as he or she tries to advance toward you. After the Hail hits, follow up with a guaranteed Ice Lance and go into a ranged combo. Remember, abusing Heavy attacks are the way to go during ranged combos. It’s the most damaging option, putting your opponent in a “must-break” position while you have no risk in Counter Breaking.

Shatter Ender
Description: The video example begins with one of several ways Glacius can set up his unblockable Shatter attacks. It starts off poking with Ice Lance, which is canceled into Heavy Hail that is held in place. While holding Hail in place, follow up with another Ice Lance canceled into Medium Shatter. Just as you cancel into Shatter, release the Hail and continue your combo. This unblockable set-up allows your opponent to see you cancel into Hail from Ice Lance, but because you held Hail in place, your opponent will hesitate to attempt to advance toward you. Instead, he or she will remain away from you, allowing you to again poke with the long range of your Ice Lance attack. Cancel into Medium Shatter from the Ice Lance, which is unblockable, giving you a combo Opener. Your opponent gets hit with the unblockable Shatter because your opponent was respecting your option to release the Hail after poking with your Ice Lance. Even if your opponent was expecting the unblockable or he or she reacted to it, you have Hail as a safety-net to keep yourself safe.
