Power-Ups

Throughout all of the levels you can find VIC cubes. VIC has strategically placed them in areas where the enemy attacks you—so if you see them, be ready for a fight. Most of the VIC cubes contain power-ups that give you an advantage over the enemy during a fight. However, HEX has included some curses, so you never know what you will get until you touch one of these cubes.

Power-ups and curses last only for a short amount of time—about 10 seconds. Therefore, use them while you can and don’t pick them up until you need them during a fight.

Name	Description
Bee Head	A beehive covers your head. Press the Attack button to shoot swarms of bees at targets.
Electric Punch	These boxing gloves give an electric sting when you punch enemies and other players.
Electric Ray Gun	This gun shoots out a bolt of electricity that zaps and defeats anyone it touches.
Electric Shield	A shield surrounds you and protects you from damage. Plus, anyone that touches the shield gets shocked.
Laser Ray	Fire laser beams from this gun to defeat enemies and other players.
Medusa	A mask appears over your head. Press the Attack button to turn players and enemies in front of you into stone statues that can be hit to destroy them.
Midas Touch	Hit others with your tool and they turn to gold. Hit them again and they turn into gold coins.
Money Magnet	You hold a large magnet that attracts coins from other players as well as the environment. You can’t attack, but can get rich.
Money Maker	You turn into a jackhammer and drill coins out of the ground as you move around. While you can’t make regular attacks, you can ground slam.
Plasma Gun	You get a gun that fires a burst of plasma. It takes only a single hit to defeat an enemy.
Power Punch	You get a pair of boxing gloves. Defeat enemies with a single hit while wearing these gloves.

Shield	A magic barrier surrounds you and protects you from all damage.
Shooter	You get a gun that fires shots that defeat enemies with a single hit. Hold down the attack button for rapid fire.
Snowman	Your character turns into a snowman armed with a freeze ray gun that turns enemies and other players into blocks of ice.
Tool Modifier	Modifies your tool so that it defeats enemies and other players with a single hit.
Tornado	You turn into a whirlwind that damages anyone and anything that gets close as you move around the area.

Some power-ups and curses are not available in single-player games and appear only when playing against other players.

Curses

Name	Description
Basketball	You turn into a basketball that bounces around the area and can perform ground slam attacks.
Bomb Head	Your head turns into a bomb that explodes after several seconds. You can also press the Attack button to make the bomb explode when you want it to.
Chicken	You are transformed into a chicken. You can still attack others by pecking at them.
Dizzy Controls	A box is placed over your head and the controls are inverted for a short period of time.
Evil Boot	Stomp, you turn into a boot. Kick other players and enemies.
Fat Guy	Your character gets large and stomps the ground when jumping or attacking, which causes damage to nearby enemies and other players.
Hamburger Head	Your head turns into a hamburger. A pair of wind-up teeth appear and try to eat the hamburger. Stay away from them or you respawn.
Jack in the Box	You turn into a box with legs. Press the Attack button to spring the lid and reveal either a coin or a bomb.
Lightning Strike	A cloud forms over your head. If there is no one nearby, the lightning hits you. Get close to other players or enemies so the lightning hits them instead.
Monkey	You turn into a toy monkey. Use the big cymbals on your hands to attack enemies and other players.
