Disney Universe eGuide Essentials HEX's Bots

Mini Bosses

HEX has some larger bots to take you on as well. These mini-bosses are stronger, can cause more damage, and take more hits before they are defeated. Each type also has special attacks they use to try to make you respawn.

Do you really think I am going to give you any tips on how to defeat my bots? Just give up now while you still can. I will win!

Brute

The Brute is the basic mini-boss. It is like a big standard Fodder with two arms and two legs. Brutes have several different attacks. If you are close to one, it will try to grab you and then punch you while in its grip.

If this happens, press the Use button rapidly to break away. Brutes also charge at you if they are at a distance and then jump up and slam down into the ground. This causes damage to anyone near the impact.

After this attack, the Brute gets stuck into the ground for a short time, which gives you a great chance to move in for an attack while it can’t fight back. Finally, the Brute punches down into the ground for a slam attack.

Again, it gets stuck, so move in and attack before it can recover.

When facing a Brute, try to use ground slam attacks to cause extra damage. While you can attack it at all times, it is best to wait until it is stuck after it performs one of its attacks. Quickly get in a few hits and then get back.

Roto

The Roto is the next mini-boss you must face off against. It has one regular arm and one arm with a wrecking ball on the end.

The Roto has three different attacks. The Roto can thrust the ball at you in a long-range punch attack. Therefore, if it is not moving around, stay back and avoid getting hit. During the second type of attack, the Roto moves around as it spins its ball low in a circle.

Don’t try to attack the bot during this low spin attack since the Roto can’t be damaged. The Roto can also spin the ball up high in a larger circle while remaining in one spot.

You can damage the Roto during its high spin attack, but be careful because you are likely to take some hits as well. Instead, wait until after the Roto finishes a high spin attack and becomes dizzy.

Then move in and attack it while it can’t hit you back. When the mini-boss starts spinning again, get out of the way and wait for another opportunity to get in some hits. Rotos are easier to fight when you have lots of room to move around.

However, in small areas, try to jump up onto higher platforms to avoid the attacks or just keep moving around and don’t get caught in a corner from which you can’t escape.

Bulldog

The Bulldog is a mini-boss that is typically assigned to guard a location—one that players need to get to. Bulldogs charge any players who get close to their area. As you are being charged, watch for a button icon to appear and quickly press that button to avoid the charge and put yourself in a position to counterattack the Bulldog.

After a Bulldog completes its charge, it acts stunned for a bit. In addition to charging, the Bulldog can also grab players who are close to it and shake them with its mouth to cause damage.

The keys to defeating a Bulldog are to avoid its charges and, when it is recovering from a charge, to move in to hit it with slam attacks. Quickly get back so that the Bulldog can’t grab and shake you.

Spawner

The Spawner is the fourth mini-boss. It gets its name from its ability to send Fodder to attack you. It can also fire large fireballs. Fight off the Fodder that the Spawner sends your way and then get in close for an attack.

The Spawner also attacks by sitting on you or bumping into you to knock you off a platform.

When you see the Spawner’s cannon charging up and getting ready to fire, be ready to press the Use button as the fireball gets close to you. This hits the fireball back at the Spawner and stuns it so you can move in and attack without worrying about getting hurt.
