Armor

Most suits of armor are separated into four distinct sections that can be purchased separately: bracers, greaves, spaulders, and a chest plate or guard. Each piece has two ratings. Health reveals the number of blocks that the protective garb will add to Ezio’s Health Meter. Resistance indicates how much damage the armor can withstand before it breaks, necessitating a trip to a Blacksmith for (easily affordable) repair work.

The Assassin’s Creed combat system does not distinguish between hit locations, with every injury sustained by Ezio affecting all armor parts equally; every hit point of damage he sustains is shared by his armor. Once the cumulative damage exceeds the maximum Resistance (revealed in Hit Points in the tables that follow), an armor section will break. At this point, the Health benefits it contributes will be removed, as represented by red “broken” blocks on the Health Meter.

There are three grades of armor to unlock over time, plus two complete suits of secret armor that cannot be purchased from merchants.
