Advancements — Taming the Wilds! Mastering Minecraft 4th Edition eGuide

Advancements are mini-goals to let you know you’re on the right track in Minecraft. These rewards are available in the PC and console versions of the game. They help guide you toward the various activities within the game, especially when you’re a new player and don’t know what to do. By the time you figure out how to get most of these, you’ll be an expert at Minecraft!

A Balanced Diet	Eat every type of food.
A Furious Cocktail	Have every type of Potion effect applied to your character at the same time.
A Seedy Place	Plant Beetroots, Melons, Nether Wart, Pumpkins, or Wheat.
A Terrible Fortress	Enter a Nether Fortress.
Acquire Hardware	Get an Iron Ingot.
Adventure	Kill or be killed by any creature.
Adventuring Time	Visit every type of standard biome.
Beaconator	Make a Tier IV pyramid for a Beacon and stand within its area of effect.
Best Friends Forever	Tame a Horse, Llama, Ocelot, Parrot, or Wolf.
Bring Home the Beacon	Make any size of pyramid for a Beacon and stand within its area of effect.
Cover Me with Diamonds	Craft or find your first piece of Diamond armor.
Diamonds!	Get a Diamond in your inventory.
Enchanter	Enchant an item at the Enchanting Table.
Eye Spy	Enter a Stronghold.
Free the End	Kill an Ender Dragon.
Getting an Upgrade	Get a Stone Pickaxe.
Great View From Up Here	Move at least 50 vertical blocks while the Levitation effect is applied to your character.
Hired Help	Summon an Iron Golem.
Hot Stuff	Fill a Bucket with Lava.
How Did We Get Here?	Have every effect from Potions and general status ailments influence you at the same time.
Ice Bucket Challenge	Get your first block of Obsidian.
Into Fire	Get a Blaze Rod from the Nether.
Isn’t It Iron Pick	Get your first Iron Pick.
Local Brewery	Get your first item from a Brewing Stand.
Minecraft	Make your first Crafting Table and add it to your inventory.
Monster Hunter	Kill any aggressive monster.
Monsters Hunted	Hunt every type of monster in the game.
Nether	Enter the Nether.
Not Today, Thank You	Deflect a projectile with a Shield.
Postmortal	Use a Totem of Undying to cheat death.
Remote Getaway	Walk into the End Gateway or throw an Ender Pearl through it.
Return to Sender	Kill a Ghast by reflecting its fireball back into itself.
Serious Dedication	Use a Diamond Hoe until it completely breaks from loss of durability.
Sky’s the Limit	Get a set of Elytra.
Sniper Duel	Kill a Skeleton from over 50 blocks away.
Spooky Scary Skeleton	Get your first Wither Skeleton Skull.
Stone Age	Acquire your first Cobblestones.
Subspace Bubble	Use the Nether to go between two Overworld Portals that are at least 7000 blocks apart.
Suit Up	Get your first piece of Iron armor.
Sweet Dreams	Lie down in a Bed.
Take Aim	Hit any living target with a shot from your Bow.
The City at the End of the Game	Enter an End City.
The End…Again	Use Ender Crystals to resummon an Ender Dragon.
The End?	Enter the End.
The Next Generation	Get a Dragon Egg.
The Parrots and the Bats	Breed two animals together.
Two by Two	Breed Chickens, Cows, Horses, Llamas, Mooshrooms, Ocelots, Pigs, Rabbits, Sheep, and Wolves.
Uneasy Alliance	Bring a Ghast back into the Overworld and kill it there.
We Need to Go Deeper	Enter the Nether.
What a Deal!	Complete a trade with any Villager.
Withering Heights	Be within 100 blocks of a Wither when it’s summoned.
You Need a Mint	Use a Glass Bottle to collect Dragon’s Breath from the Ender Dragon.
Zombie Doctor	Throw a Splash Potion of Weakness at a Zombie Villager, then give it a Golden Apple (face it, equip the Golden Apple, and use the Apple).
