Fired from Bows or Dispensers |
Arrows are shot from Bows or Dispensers to deal damage to enemies at range. These attacks inflict 1 to 5 damage, depending on how well-charged the attack is.
Arrows that you fire into regular blocks can be retrieved if you’re quick about it. Use this as a way to recover Arrows that you use while practicing, or misses from ranged combat.
Spectral Arrows add the Glowing status effect to anyone they hit. These are primarily used in PvP combat to ensure that someone can be spotted and killed even if they run away or take cover. Glowing lasts for a short time, and causes the target to show up even when they’re behind full cover!
Tipped Arrows add the effects of a Lingering Potion to eight crafted Arrows. These can be positive or negative effects, so you can customize whether they’re used on friends or enemies (though the base Arrows still do damage, so don’t use strong Bows if you’re trying to be nice toanyone). The effects from Tipped Arrows are reduced in strength from their full Potion variants. You deliver about one-eighth of the total result, per shot.

Boots are a type of armor. They’re made at a Crafting Table by using four pieces of either Leather or metal. Diamond Boots offer the best protection, but Iron Boots are pretty darn good and cost a lot less in terms of time to gather their materials.
Once you make your Boots, go into your inventory to put them on. Your character’s appearance changes once they’re equipped, and damage you take from physical sources is reduced.

Bows are either crafted or gathered from Skeletons that you defeat (as a rare drop). Gather materials for Bow crafting by breaking Wood into Sticks and by killing Spiders to gather extra String.
Once you complete this weapon, equip it and keep Arrows in your inventory for use. You can deal decent damage at long range, as long as you’re good at hitting your targets!

Craft a Chestplate to dramatically reduce the damage you take from physical sources. This type of armor requires the most Leather or pieces of metal, so it’s costly to craft or replace. However, it also offers the most protection out of all your armor pieces.
Once it’s completed, go into your inventory to equip this item and start gaining its benefits. Diamond Chestplates are the best in the game, but Iron Chestplates are suitable for almost all the fights that you encounter.

Elytra are Chest items that grant gliding powers to your character. When you’re falling, tap the Jump button to start a glide.
These items are repaired using an Anvil and spare Leather, or can be combined with other Elytra to make a single unit that’s in better condition.

Defense |
Shields are held in your offhand and are used to block incoming attacks. They’re useful against ranged strikes, and can even reduce knockback. Watch out in melee, because these objects only protect your front and enemies can get around behind you. Axe users also have a heavier swing that disables your Shields periodically, so it won’t be nearly as effective against them. Damaged Shields can be used to repair each other.

Melee attacks |
Swords are made with a Stick and two pieces of metal. Early in the game, you’re likely to use Stone Swords fairly often, but switch to Iron Swords once you have a couple pieces of Iron Ingots to spare; these improved blades last a long time and kill enemies quickly. You won’t need to switch to Diamond Swords for a good while.
Once you have a Sword, use it in close-range combat to kill enemies. Attack them as you retreat to ensure your character gets many attacks in, while your opponents suffer from knockback and miss opportunities to counter.
