In November of 2007, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune arrived on the PlayStation 3 and changed the gaming industry forever with its memorable characters, impressive storytelling, amazing graphics, and immersive gameplay that have influenced countless game designers ever since. The developers at Naughty Dog had established the new gold standard of what could be accomplished on the PlayStation 3 hardware, just as Sony Santa Monica’s God of War series and Team Ico’s Shadow of the Colossus had done on the PlayStation 2 a generation prior.
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune also carries the distinction of being the first retail PS3 title to support the Trophy system, unlockable badges of honor for your PlayStation Network profile earned by completing difficult goals in a game. Trophies have been a staple of every PlayStation title since, challenging gamers to push themselves to the limit of what a title has to offer in hopes of earning that coveted Platinum. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale proudly celebrates this tradition with 55 Trophies of its own, and this chapter shows you how to get them all.

Arcade Mode Trophies—Bronze: 21
A Bronze Trophy is available for all members of the cast for completing their respective Arcade Mode stories. There are no shortcuts or tricks to grabbing these Trophies; you just have to put in the time to defeat Polygon Man with every single All-Star. The difficulty setting and the number of retries you use to beat the game are not factors here, so feel free to blaze through on Hero difficulty if you’re just looking to score the Bronze. A single playthrough on Hero nets enough RP to reach at least Rank 10, meaning that while you’re banking Trophies, you’re also unlocking everyone’s second costume and minion!
If you’re feeling bold with a particular character, try cranking the difficulty up a notch to earn “The Legend” along with that character’s Arcade Mode Trophy in one fell swoop.
Super Attack Trophies—Bronze: 15
Many of the All-Stars’s home worlds are represented with a level, either during the initial phase or after the mash-up occurs. Performing a Level 3 Super with an All-Star on their home turf earns you a shiny new Bronze Trophy! With 14 of these up for grabs, it might seem like a daunting task to get them all. Fortunately, it’s actually quite easy to earn all of them, as well as the “Ultimate Power” Trophy, using Practice Mode. The following example uses Kratos, but just refer to the complete list of Trophies found at the start of this chapter for the character/level combinations you need.
Enter Practice Mode and select Kratos…
…and then the Hades level.
Press
to pause the game and set the FORCE SUPER LEVEL option to LEVEL 3.
Resume the game, activate your Super, and cross another Trophy off of the list!
Kill Trophies—Silver: 1 Gold: 1
There are two Trophies directly related to kills in PlayStation All-Stars: “Two for One” and “Three for One” Much like the Trophies tied to Level 3 Super attacks, both of these can be won easily in Practice Mode.
Two for One/Three for One
Getting a double kill and a triple kill with a Level 1 Super is no easy task. You have to be really lucky or have opponents that just stand around like dummies... hey, wait a minute, you already know where to find those dummies: Practice Mode!
Choose a character with a quick horizontal dash Level 1 Super like Kratos, Sly Cooper, or Fat Princess. Select Practice Small 1 for the practice stage, turn all opponents to ACTIVE in the Practice Pause Menu, and set FORCE SUPER LEVEL to LEVEL 1. Use the left stick to gently nudge your adversaries into a cluster. Finally, activate your Super, and add a Silver and Gold Trophy to your total with minimal effort.
Combos & Tutorials—Bronze: 4 Silver: 1
FUNDAMENTALS
The “Fundamentals” Trophy can be earned the very first time you start the game. Just select YES when the game asks if you want go through the Basic Tutorial the first time you play. Otherwise, select it from the SOLO PLAY menu and follow the easy on-screen instructions.
Character Master
“Character Master” requires you to complete one Combo Tutorial with any character. If you’re looking for an easy out, try Big Daddy. If you’re looking for a challenge, then take on Nariko or Dante.
Trial Combatant and Combo King
“Trial Combatant” only requires you to finish a single Combat Trial. Difficulty doesn’t matter as long as you come out on top. Kratos’s F attack Combat Trial on Hero difficulty is the easiest to complete, if you’re looking for a quick fix. The Combat Trials chapter of this guide can give you more info if you get stuck.
“Combo King” and “Combo Virtuoso” require you to perform a 50AP+ and 70AP+ combo, respectively, in Practice Mode. Once again, the God of War is your man. Set Sweet Tooth as your opponent—it’s impossible not to hit the broad side of a clown—and select a smaller stage, such as Dojo, so you don’t waste time running to your dummy. Once you’re ready to go, start practicing Kratos’s BnB combo:

This combo only requires one attack button and earns you 90AP, easily fulfilling the requirement for both Trophies at once!
Minions, Overtime, and Versus Trophies—Bronze: 2 Silver: 2
Showing Off
For the minion-based Trophy “Showing Off,” you first have to unlock one by reaching Rank 8 with a single character, and then equip that minion to the character of your choice in the Customize menu. Minions only appear if you get a double or triple kill during an actual match—no Practice Mode shortcuts for this one. Instead, create a Versus Mode match with at least two computer-controlled opponents set to CPU 1 difficulty.
As with prior Trophies, select a small level, like Dojo or Practice Small 1, where enemies are more likely to clump together. The AI is fairly dim-witted at the easiest difficulty, so it shouldn’t be a problem to attack freely until you’ve built up two Super levels. Wait for the opportunity to strike, score that double kill, and watch your minion do their little happy dance!
Overtime
There are two Trophies to earn in this category: one for simply entering Overtime and the other for hitting 3x Overtime. Both can be earned in Versus Mode easily if you have a second controller or a PSN friend handy.
Create a Versus Mode match with you and another human opponent. Trade off attacking one another until you’re both at Level 1, and kill each other exactly once, tying the score at one point each. Now, just wait for the clock to run out, enter Overtime, and collect your Trophy. Repeat this process during Overtime to enter 3x Overtime and snag a Silver Trophy for your collection.
Champion
The “Champion” Trophy requires you to win a Versus Match against three AI opponents, but what the description doesn’t tell you is that difficulty is not a factor. Pick the All-Star you’re most comfortable with and set up three AI opponents at CPU 1 difficulty. You can even change the Match Settings to whatever type of game you wish. As long as you come out on top of the All-Star heap, you can be one Silver Trophy richer.
Online—Bronze: 3 Silver: 4
Most fighting games with an online component have Trophies with ridiculous requirements only obtainable by the most godlike online warriors, such as winning 10 matches in a row or winning 500 matches over your career. PlayStation All-Stars bucks this trend with only seven online-related Trophies, all of them realistically within reach of casual players.
Playing Matches
Four of the seven Trophies in this category are all based around the concept of finishing a match. FFA or 2v2, you don’t even have to win the match for two of the Trophies as long as you stick it out until the end. “Friendly Competition” only requires that you finish a Versus Match against an online opponent, while “Tournament Fighter” can be obtained by finishing a Ranked Match.
“Victorious!” requires that you win a match-made online game, either via Ranked Match or Quick Match. Depending on the luck of the draw, it may take you a few tries before you unlock this one. “This is Living” is even trickier, since you must win a match-made game and not die a single time. For this one, especially if the competition is fierce, you must utilize all of your defensive tactics to avoid death.
Online Kills
Three of the online-related Trophies are based on scoring kills. “First Blood” is probably the easiest, and it is awarded the first time you score a kill online. “Triple Kill” is most easily obtained by building up to a Level 2 or Level 3 Super to maximize your killing potential. In fact, if you can activate your Level 3 Super, you’re pretty much guaranteed to unlock this Trophy.
The final online Trophy, “Team Sweeper,” is only as hard to unlock as you and your partner make it to be. Your goal should be to have one partner catch both opponents in an attack that puts them in a vulnerable position, while the other partner swoops in and executes their Super attack. It may take a few attempts before the stars align in the correct order, but if you and your partner are in sync, it’s only a matter of time.
