Finishing matches and completing Goals in PlayStation All-Stars isn’t just a fun way to pass the time; it’s also a way to unlock fabulous rewards you can use to customize your experience. Deck out your Player Card with Icons, Backgrounds, and Titles to show off your All-Star accomplishments online! Unlock new costumes, Taunts, victory music, and more for each of your characters! There are more than 600 unlockable items in the game, each with increasingly difficult requirements.
To become a true All-Stars all-star, you’re going to have to finish a lot of matches and bank an impressive amount of Ranking Points with the entire cast before you can unlock all of them. Luckily, this guide provides a full list of every unlockable item and their requirements, so you can easily focus on the prizes you desire most.
Profile Rewards
Profile Rewards consist of various pieces of artwork or distinct phrases that can be used to customize your Profile Card and show off your All-Star career accomplishments. A majority of unlocks are directly tied to a character’s rank, so getting them all is just a matter of earning the 300,000RP required to achieve Rank 300… with every character. All those zeros may look daunting in print, but with 443 Goals and a laundry list of match bonuses, PlayStation All-Stars is a reward piñata: just go hit stuff until all those delicious Ranking Points start falling out.
Backgrounds
Each character has five Backgrounds to unlock, with one each rewarded at Ranks 16, 19, 22, 25, and 300. Resistance Backgrounds are the only exception, requiring you to reach a certain Rank with several characters before they are awarded.
Each character has 16 Icons to unlock that become available at Ranks 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 18, 20, 21, 23, 24, 50, and 200. Resistance Icons are the only exception: only 14 Icons are available, each requiring you to reach a certain Rank with several characters before they become available.
Team Titles are unlocked by completing each tier of the various Ranked Match 2v2 Goals.

Minions
Everyone needs a personal cheerleader from time to time, even a PlayStation All-Star. That’s where the minions come in! These cute “super-deformed” versions of supporting cast members from each All-Star’s respective franchise are purely cosmetic additions to the game, making appearances during character intros, outros, and whenever you score an impressive kill during a match.
Ranking up doesn’t just earn you fancy pieces of flair for your Player Card; it also unlocks special customization items specific to each character! New costumes, Taunts, intro/outro animations, and even victory music await you as get acquainted with each of the All-Stars. Luckily, knowing what Rank you need to reach in order to unlock rewards for your character isn’t rocket science: all characters earn the same type of reward at the same Rank requirement. Costumes can be selected from the Character Select screen, while Taunts, intros, outros, and victory music must be chosen from the Customize menu.

Costumes
Every character has three costumes: their default outfit, an unlockable costume, and a DLC (downloadable content) costume. The unlockable costume becomes available for an All-Star once you reach Rank 10 with that character, while the DLC outfit is available via the PlayStation Network or if you pre-ordered the game from select retailers. Costumes are purely cosmetic, but unlike some notable fighting game titles, each costume has four distinct color schemes so that every player can pick the All-Star and costume they prefer without worrying about someone else calling dibs on their favorite outfit. Please check out the “At a Glance” section for each All-Star in the Characters chapter for a look at the full color palette for each costume.
Taunts
Is there anything more satisfying than topping off a triple kill with a well-timed Taunt? With the simple press of a button, your character performs the Taunt animation you’ve selected from the Customize menu, rubbing a little salt into the wounds of your opponents. Each character has two additional Taunts that are unlocked at Rank 13 and Rank 40. Just make sure the coast is clear before activating your victory dance. Taunts lock your character into a 2.5 second animation that cannot be canceled in any way, and all Taunts, regardless of character, adhere to this rule. So don’t expect any special benefits from unlocking new ones; they’re just for show!
Intros
Intro animations play at the beginning of a match, introducing each All-Star before the battle begins. Each character has three additional Intros to unlock, acquired by reaching Rank 2, Rank 30, and Rank 75. Once unlocked, you can preview each Intro by simply highlighting it inside the Character Customization menu. Choose your most menacing (or in Sackboy’s case, cute) pose and start playing mind games with your opponents before the match even starts!
Outro
Outro animations play at the end of a match before the Match Summary screen appears. Characters perform the same animation every time if they lose, but those who brawl their way to the top of the heap get to see their unique Outro animation to celebrate the sweet taste of victory. As with Intros, each character has three additional Outros to unlock by reaching Rank 3, Rank 35, and Rank 100.
Victory Music
Like Outro animations, Victory Music plays at the end of a match if you’re in the first-place position. Every character uses the default Generic music track until they unlock customized tracks that fit their origin games’ style at Rank 4 and Rank 45. You can preview Victory Music tracks from the Customize menu as each one unlocks. Select your favorite and force everyone to listen to your track next time you earn a first-place finish!
