Two for One

Score a Double Kill with a single Spartan Laser shot in a ranked free for all playlist (Online).

If you move as you fire the Spartan Laser, it can create a “fan effect” which can kill multiple opponents simultaneously. Use this technique to unlock this Achievement.

Too Close to the Sun

Destroy an enemy Banshee with the Spartan Laser or Missile Pod in a ranked playlist or in Campaign.

You can unlock this Achievement by playing The Storm in Campaign mode. In the area where Marines attack the Covenant on Mongooses, there are Missile Pods against the long wall, and you shouldn’t need to look far to find a Banshee.

Triple Kill

Kill 3 enemies within 4 seconds of one another in a ranked free for all playlist (Online).

These two Achievements may seem daunting, but they’ll probably happen sooner than you think. It’s just a question of being on a map you feel comfortable with, wielding a suitably powerful weapon, and having Lady Luck beam bounteously in your direction.

Overkill

Kill 4 enemies within 4 seconds of one another in a ranked free for all playlist (Online).

Lee R Wilson Memorial

Score 5 grenade sticks in any ranked free for all playlist (Online).

You have two choices: endeavor to pick this up during general play, or specifically aim to kill with grenade sticks alone, accepting the hit to your Skill level growth if you subsequently have a terrible match.

We’re in for some Chop

Destroy an enemy vehicle with equipment in a ranked playlist or in Campaign.

This isn’t too difficult – just get creative with Trip Mines, for example during the third Campaign mission.

Killing Frenzy

Kill 10 enemies without dying in any ranked free for all playlist (Online).

For most players, acquiring a vehicle is the key to unlocking this one. A careful, considered rampage in a Banshee, Chopper or Ghost should work, but be prepared to wait – there’s no shortcut to bagging this Achievement.

Steppin‘ Razor

Score a Triple Kill with an Energy Sword in a ranked free for all playlist (Online).

You’ll obviously need to be playing on a map that features the Energy Sword, such as Construct or The Pit, to win this one. There’s no foolproof way to fulfill the requirement, but being first to arrive at the Energy Sword spawn point at the beginning of a match is a good start.

Mongoose Mowdown

Splatter an enemy with a Mongoose in a ranked free for all playlist (Online).

High Ground and Isolation are good hunting grounds for people seeking this Achievement. You’ll need to be driving at top speed, and to hit your target squarely. Oh, and it helps if they don’t see you coming – look out for an opponent engaged in a firefight, and ensure your aim is true.

Up Close and Personal

Kill 5 enemies via melee or assassination in a ranked free for all playlist (Online).

If you don’t pick this up during your first few weeks of play, it’s a warning sign that you’re neglecting the melee attack – often the quickest and cleanest way to win close-quarters battles in multiplayer matches. Snowbound and High Ground are good maps to focus on if you’re looking to unlock this Achievement. Stay indoors, weaken your opponents with weapons fire while running towards them, then aim to finish each fight with a thundering body blow.

Fear the Pink Mist

Kill 5 enemies with a Needler in a ranked free for all playlist or in Campaign.

Many players will already have this from their first Campaign playthrough. If not, visit the Grunt Camp area of the opening Sierra 117 mission. You’ll find a few Needlers and the required number of enemies there.

Headshot Honcho

Kill 10 enemies with headshots in a ranked free for all playlist or in Campaign.

This is obviously much easier to unlock in Campaign mode. Start at Rally Point Bravo on Sierra 117, grab a Sniper Rifle and Battle Rifle from the crashed Pelican, then set up camp on the ledge above the dam area. Take your time, and this one will be extremely simple.

Used Car Salesman

Destroy a vehicle that has three enemies in it in a ranked playlist or in Campaign.

Again, this is easier to complete in Campaign mode. There’s a battle on The Ark where two groups of Brutes arrive on Prowlers (see page 75). Playing on Normal (it’s less tricky that way), grab the Rocket Launcher from underneath the crashed Pelican, and be ready for their arrival.

Marathon Man

Locate and access all Terminals in the Campaign.

As we document the locations of all Forerunner Terminals in the Campaign chapter, you should have already unlocked this. If not, their locations are highlighted in three mission walkthroughs – The Ark, The Covenant, and Halo.

MVP

Earn the MVP in any ranked playlist (Online).

Being an accolade that acknowledges a truly excellent performance, we can’t offer any specific tips on unlocking this Achievement. You’ll get your moment of glory eventually. Hopefully, it will be the first of many to come…

Maybe Next Time Buddy

Board the same vehicle within 10 seconds after being boarded in any free for all playlist (Online).

You’ll need quick wits to unlock this Achievement. When an opponent hijacks your vehicle, hit the ground running and immediately hold down the “board” button (default r) as you give chase. It takes a little luck, but you’ll crack it one day.
