Memorize the animations! When is the exact point the reversal is open? When do you have the most success keeping control and following thorugh with a slam or strike? These are things that sound simple, but require practice and experience to learn and get used to. For holds, watch the animations and don’t rely on the flash of the reversal prompt. Mix up your approaches to keep your opponent guessing. If you notice an opponent is seeing the reversal well in the Wrist Lock, switch to a Side Headlock or try using another move.
