Downtown
Manhattan, New York
You’ve been sent to Manhattan to make contact with the Resistance cell there. The city is still affected by radiation from the atomic bomb dropped on it during the war. Your Power Suit protects you from the radiation; unfortunately, the Nazi Soldiers’ yellow radiation suits grant them protection as well. With the aid of a mini sub from Evas Hammer, you infiltrate a shipwreck at the docks.

Objective: Exit the Wreck
Several corpses lie around the shipwreck, probably casualties from the fallout in the city. You need to find a way off the wreck and into the city. The only way out is via the boiler pipes. Crouch down, peer into the boiler, and spot the door at the other end with the yellow stripes. Use your heavy weapon, either the Dieselkraftwerk or the Laserkraftwerk, to blow it open. Stations in the area allow you to refuel or recharge your weapon if need be.
Crawl through the boiler pipe to reach the next room. There’s another boiler pipe here. However, to blow off the end so you can enter, you must look through an opening on the side and locate the yellow stripes on the inside of the door. Blast the door with your heavy weapon, then approach the opening and shoot the door at the pipe’s opposite end to forge a path out of the wreck.
After crawling through the second boiler pipe, head up the ramp from the ship onto the dock. The city is in ruins. Turn left and make your way toward the buildings—or what remains of them.
Objective: Reach the State Building
There are three main routes you can take once you get off the dock: right, left, or up the ramp to the second floor. The hotel you must navigate is crawling with enemies, and a stealth approach doesn’t last long. The right approach includes one Soldier you can sneak up on. The second-floor approach lets you cross a pipe directly into the hotel, but you’re usually seen doing this. The left approach contains two Soldiers and one of the area’s Kommandants. If your strategy involves killing the Kommandants before they can sound the alarm, take the approach on the right first. Sneak up on the Soldier for a stealth takedown.
Backtrack around to the approach left of the ramp. This part requires a silenced Pistole or a hatchet you can throw. Position yourself so you can see the Soldier on the left, but the Soldier on the right is hidden from your sight behind a pillar. Either land a headshot with the Pistole or throw a hatchet to kill the first Soldier, then pull back so you’re not around when the second Soldier comes to investigate. Return to the right approach and enter the hotel. Kill the Soldier on the ground floor silently with a stealth takedown, then move back to the street.
Look for the Soldier who was behind the pillar. He usually moves forward to circle the building. Follow him and execute another stealth takedown, then continue and do the same to the Kommandant outside the hotel. The other Kommandant is inside the hotel on the second floor.
Re-enter the hotel and cautiously advance up the stairs. Equip a silenced Pistole, or be ready to throw a hatchet if you come across any enemies. The other Kommandant is near several Soldiers, so a stealth kill is tough. Instead, focus on killing the Kommandant as quickly as possible before he can sound the alarm, then pull back and let the rest of your enemies come to you.
As you eliminate the remaining Soldiers, continue advancing through the hotel to the other side. From the second floor, take a fire escape up to the third floor, then an interior staircase to the fourth floor. Then drop back into another part of the hotel.
As you prepare to exit the hotel back down onto the street, look for a Drone up ahead. There’s no way around it. If it sees you, it instantly alerts the Kommandant in the following section. The quickest way to destroy the Drone is with your heavy weapon. If you have the Dieselkraftwerk, shoot two charges at it, preferably before it sees you, then detonate it.
Don’t drop to the street just yet. Crouch and use the Sturmgewehr to pick off enemies down at street level and in the building across the street. The more you take out from here, the fewer you have to worry about later.
Cross the street when all’s clear and enter the police station. Search it for Collectibles and goodies as you fight off the Soldiers inside, then head upstairs to the first floor. From here, you can drop back to the ground floor and exit onto the street, bypassing the crater in the road.
Objective: Enter the Subway
As you reach the intersection, you can usually find the Kommandant in this area, as well as Soldiers and a SuperSoldat. Use your heavy weapon to kill the SuperSoldat, then pick up his Dieselgewehr, plus extra fuel from the other dropped weapon.
The Subway
Head down some stairs to reach the subway system. Continue until you come to debris in front of the passageway that leads to the subway station. Climb up the debris, which forms a ramp, and drop to the station area.
While the station looks quiet, brace yourself for trouble and keep the Dieselgewehr ready. There are a few Kampfhund down here. As soon as they start running toward you, light them up with the heavy weapon.
Objective: Find the Exit
Advance through either subway tunnel, right or left, and then into the rooms between them. Keep using the Dieselgewehr if you have it. There’s a refueling station in one of these rooms, so top it off before you continue. This heavy weapon can be used all throughout the subway system, and you find plenty of fuel for it as you go.
Proceed straight ahead from the refueling station to find a dead end with a Collectible. An alligator jumps up from the water, so be ready to fight it off.
Enter the subway cars on the left, then continue through them and out into the tunnel. Keep going to enter another subway car, then exit to the right and traverse a passageway to reach the tracks on the right. Head into another subway car, sneak up behind the Soldier there, and perform a stealth takedown.
Exit the car onto the station platform. A SuperSoldat patrols this area. Use the Dieselgewehr to defeat it, then refuel your heavy weapon from those he drops. Use it again to blast through a yellow-striped metal door. Walk inside and turn on the generator to supply power to the trains.
Objective: Move the Trains
Enter the subway train on the left-side tracks. At the controls, adjust the switch to get the train rolling forward and out of the way. As you exit back onto the platform, two more SuperSoldaten appear. Make short work of them with the Dieselgewehr and use their weapons to refuel yours.
Return to the subway car and exit through the rear. Continue down the subway tunnel until you come across a room to the right. Move through it and into another subway train on the right-side tracks. Get to the front and activate the switch to send it chugging toward your destination.
Midtown
Objective: Reach the State Building
As the subway train crashes, you’re sent flying out into the street. The State Building is in sight; you just need to get there. Advance on foot and grab supplies near the doorway of a building. Break open the crates for some bonus pickups.
The streets are blocked, so you must move through this building to reach the State Building. Enter and turn left to find a map of the area. It’s going to come in handy.
After snagging the map, hang out by the door. A nearby Kampfhund will probably smell you, plus your Alert icon signals that a Kommandant is in the area. To maintain stealth, use a silenced Pistole on the Kampfhund, then search the area for a Collectible.
Employ caution as you move through the building. Most of the ground floor is inaccessible, so head up two flights of stair. Soldiers patrol this area. If stealth is still an option and you want to prevent the Kommandant from sounding the alarm, use your hatchet. Perform stealth takedowns or land hatchet throws to eliminate the Soldiers without a sound.
As you emerge from the stairs onto the second floor, take note of the several Soldiers in the rubble to the left. Look for the Kommandant—usually on the third or fourth floor. Target him first, either to prevent the alarm or to stop it, then finish off the rest. The upper floors are mere sections, so you can engage enemies on different floors fairly easily. Watch out for Drones flying around.
After clearing out the enemies, search for Collectibles and other items, then head up to the fourth floor. An opening in the wall looks out over the street below. There’s no other way to reach the State Building, so jump down. Your Power Armor can withstand the fall.
As soon as you hit the street, move into the brick building and take cover. A Zitadelle patrols the street. You’ve got a couple of options: you have your own heavy weapon, but you can find a Lasergewehr inside the next building, along with ammo. You need the ammo either way, so sneak out of the first building and rush to the second.
Once you’re armed and ready to take on big foes, go after the Zitadelle. This enemy’s weaknesses are its limbs. One arm is equipped with a Flamethrower for shorter-range attacks, the other with an Artillery Cannon for distanced shots. The legs are also weak spots. If you destroy any two limbs, you destroy the Zitadelle. Which limb you should target first depends on the distance between you and this monstrous mech. At close range, destroy the Flamethrower arm first, which allows you to move in close to take out a second limb. At long range, prioritize the Artillery Cannon arm to cripple the Zitadelle's ability to hit you from a distance. In the case of this fight, follow these steps for best results:
1. Take cover behind a wall.
2. Shoot the Flamethrower arm until it’s destroyed.
3. Move in close and attack the Artillery Cannon arm, or one of the legs.
After the Zitadelle is neutralized, search the buildings for Collectibles and other items, then return to the street. By now, Nazis are likely shooting at you from the State Building at the end of the road. Head back toward the building where you jumped and look left to find a tunnel through the debris. This route lets you reach the State Building while avoiding enemy fire.
You’re now inside the rubble of the State Building. The only way in is via a ramp formed from rubble and stairs off to your left. Head up the ramp to the second floor.
From here you can see the Nazi Soldiers in the other part of the building. Shoot as many as you can from this vantage point. If you still have the Lasergewehr, use it until it runs out of power. The more enemies you kill from a distance, the fewer you have to deal with up close later.
Search the area for goodies, plus a weapon upgrade. At this point, you must jump across a couple of gaps to reach the main part of the building. Making the jump requires you to drop the Lasergewehr. Spring to the edge, then jump to the small platform and continue with another jump to the State Building’s second floor.
Advance through the rubble. Be ready for a Kampfhund to come running at you with very little warning. Kill it and continue. The area’s Kommandant and other Soldiers are on the second and third floors. Take cover and engage them one at a time.
Your path takes you up the stairs to the third floor, across, and then back to the second floor via a drop. While you’re clearing out the enemies, a SuperSoldat flies up for an attack. Quickly take him out with your heavy weapon. Once all enemies are finished off, search the area for Collectibles and load up on ammo.
Objective: Reach the Penthouse
When you’re ready to continue to the mission’s next level, find the elevator shaft with a ladder leading up multiple floors. Climb it.
The State Building
Objective: Stall the Nazis
You climb the ladder all the way to the penthouse and meet up with the New York Resistance. However, the Nazis must have followed you; they’re headed up the stairs. The Kreisau Resistance is sending helicopters from Evas Hammer to help the New Yorkers escape. While they evacuate from the roof, you must hold off the Nazis.
In the short time you have before the enemy arrives, pick up a map in the cage near your start location.
The penthouse is chock-full of ammo, armor, and first-aid kits. Stock up. The attack starts slow with a few Soldiers. Eliminate them quickly and get ready for the rest to show up.
While the Soldiers aren’t too tough by themselves, the Nazis also send in Drones. Take cover as you engage them. Throw grenades at the Soldiers, especially when they bunch up, to slow them down so you can concentrate on the Drones. Heavy weapons work well on Drones, and you’ve got ammo available near the cage on the top level.
Listen for the loud, clunking steps of the SuperSoldaten. This gives you warning of their approach. Quickly take out one with your heavy weapon, then pick up the dropped Dieselgewehr. Refuel it with the other heavy weapon, since they carry two.
Once you have the Dieselgewehr, you can take on everything coming at you. It works great against Soldiers and Drones alike. A couple of shots can also destroy a SuperSoldat, which is good, because more show up after the first. Keep at it until all enemies are eliminated.
Objective: Jump Aboard the Helicopter
When the penthouse is clear, take some time to search for Collectibles and a weapon upgrade, then descend to the lower level and jump out the window to the waiting helicopter, which takes you back to Evas Hammer.
