Nintendo Land Attractions

Solo Attractions

Inspired by the Nintendo Entertainment System game Balloon Fight, Balloon Trip Breeze lets your Mii take flight. Slide the Stylus on the GamePad to create gusts of wind, which whisk your Mii into the air. While you glide, beware of Balloon Breakers and other obstacles that may pop the two balloons on your Mii’s back, and plunge your Mii into the sea below. Bursting blocks, bubbles and balloons with shock waves helps your Mii navigate the obstacle course and earns you points. And if you need a helping hand, another player with a Wii Remote can burst Balloon Birds and push obstacles out of the way for you.

Based on the futuristic F-Zero racing games, Captain Falcon’s Twister Race is a thrilling high-speed race against the clock. Tilt the GamePad to steer your racer along a colorful track packed with obstacles. As you progress through the 12 areas, you’ll find other vehicles, Red Bombs, and Barricades that slow you down or send you spinning if you hit them, along with Dash Plates that speed up your racer. With all of this action, the racetrack becomes more of a challenging obstacle course with each passing minute—though if the track seems too choked with obstacles, another player can fire at a hazard or Dash Plate with the Wii Remote to make the track safer for you.

Donkey Kong’s Crash Course is a single-player Attraction based on the original Donkey Kong arcade game. By tilting the GamePad, you maneuver a spring-loaded Roller through a dangerous obstacle course. Seesawing platforms and the threat of overturning the Roller or popping a spring make this timed Attraction a whimsical test of nerves and coordination. Another player can join in on the fun with the Wii Remote to make a circle on the screen that slows time when the Roller enters it. Although this time distortion allows for more careful maneuvering, remember that the clock is always ticking!

Though the original Game and Watch Octopus game featured a black octopus, Octopus Dance features a reimagined, colorful world to get you dancing. By tilting the GamePad and using the Left Stick and Right Stick to move and swing your arms, mimic the dance moves you see onscreen. Your GamePad shows your Mii facing one direction, while your TV screen shows the Mii facing the other way. Mistakes make you lose hearts, but another player with a Wii Remote can release life-restoring hearts from bubbles if you can score an “OK” or “Perfect” rating in the next section.

Based on an early Famicom game released only in Japan, Takamaru’s Ninja Castle is a single-player adventure to save Princess Monita, using your GamePad as a Throwing Star launcher. Tilting the GamePad aims, while moving the stylus across the touch screen throws the Throwing Stars at enemy ninja on your TV screen. It’s a fast-paced challenge when the ninjas move. Luckily, another player can make aiming easier by freezing a ninja in place with the Wii Remote.

A puzzler starring everyone’s favorite dinosaur, Yoshi’s Fruit Cart tests your mapping and navigation skills. With the GamePad Stylus, draw a route to guide the Yoshi Cart to the goal, leading him to Fruit along the way. The TV screen shows you the Fruit to eat and obstacles to avoid, but here’s the challenge: You can’t see any of this on the GamePad. Tracing an efficient route is key, as you’ll lose a life every time the Yoshi Cart runs out of fuel. If you need help, have another player jump in with the Wii Remote to aim at one Fruit per Gate to collect it for the Yoshi Cart.

Team Attractions

Playing with up to three other players, The Legend of Zelda: Battle Quest lets you take on classic enemies from the Legend of Zelda games. With the GamePad, you play as an archer, and shoot arrows using the Right Stick. To support the archer, other players can wield the Wii Remote Plus as a sword and shield. The goal of the game is to take down as many enemies as possible and find the Triforce before your shared pool of hearts runs out. Defeating enemies earns you Rupees—a smart way to gauge how much you’re contributing to your team’s progress.

In the Metroid -inspired Metroid Blast , you’ll blaze through space by controlling Samus Aran’s iconic Gunship with the GamePad or playing as Samus herself with a Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk. In Assault Missions you blast moving targets and enemies as you navigate through complex environments, while the timed Surface-Air Combat pits Gunships against Samus characters for a competitive challenge. In Ground Battle, every player uses the Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk to attack and grab tokens or attempt to survive the longest with the GamePad used as a shared view screen. With so many ways to play, it’s an Attraction that’s always a blast to try again!

You can tackle Pikmin Adventure , based on the Pikmin game series, as a single-player or multiplayer game. Play as Captain Olimar with the GamePad or bash bad guys as a Pikmin with the Wii Remote. Your goal is to escape from a familiar evil overlord and make it to your ship in the Bulborb Forest, collecting blobs of Nectar to grow stronger and take on the final boss. In Versus mode, Olimar pits himself against the Pikmin in a battle to collect as many candies as possible.

Competitive Attractions

Based on the Animal Crossing series, Animal Crossing: Sweet Day offers a fresh way to play with friends. One player uses the GamePad’s Left Stick and Right Stick to control two Gatekeepers simultaneously, while the other players use the Wii Remote to play as Animals and collect Candy. Eating Candies makes the Animals’ heads fat and slows their ability to run from the Gatekeepers, but it’s all part of the challenge as Animals try to collect enough Candies to win before the Gatekeepers catch them. When you’re done, swap controllers to take on the other role and experience the action all over again.

In Luigi’s Ghost Mansion , the classic Luigi’s Mansion action is spookier than ever. The GamePad lets you play as a Ghost, and your aim is to catch the Ghost Tracker players and making them all faint. Meanwhile, the Wii Remote makes you a Ghost Hunter who shines their flashlights on the Ghost to lower its health. The real measure of courage is facing a Ghost you can’t see: The ghost doesn’t show up on the TV screen most of the time, but when the Ghost draws near, the Wii Remote Plus vibrates an eerie alert.

Fans of the Super Mario games will recognize Mario’s red hat over the Mario Chase Attraction in the Plaza. Playing with the GamePad makes you Mario, and you must hide and run from the other players who are dressed as Toads. Using a Wii Remote, each Toad tries to locate and capture Mario before time runs out. Mario must avoid environmental hazards and navigate labyrinthine corridors as the Toads chase him through the maze. Like in Luigi’s Ghost Mansion , only the GamePad player as Mario can see it all; players watching through the TV must use teamwork and communication to box Mario in!
