City Government Complex
The City Government Complex combines all functions of government into one convenient location. Whoever thought government could be so efficient? City Hall offers Sims the chance to try their hand at the Political career.
But Sims who have set their sights on political office will need to boost their Charisma skill. Fortunately, City Hall offers a Charisma class too, giving all Sims a leg-up in social interactions by building the Charisma skill.
Free tours of City Hall are also available, offering a great way to spend a day off. Sims interested in the Law Enforcement career can join the local force at the Police Station.
With the exception of criminals locked in jail, there isn’t much else for Sims to do at the Police Station. Rounding out the City Government Complex is the Military wing. Here Sims can join the Military Career in an attempt to rise up the ranks.
The Military wing is also open to civilian Sims eager to take a tour of the Command Center or improve their Handiness skill.
If home repairs continue to be a challenge, consider attending a Handiness class to make quick work of those leaky faucets and clogged toilets.
C-Ment Shoe Factory
Got a problem with authority? Want to pursue a less-than-honest line of work? Then perhaps the Criminal career is right up your alley. This conspicuous shoe factory on the outskirts of town is a front for Starlight Shores’ criminal element.
The only reason to go here is if you wish to join the Criminal career. There are no classes or tours, so don’t ask.
While the factory is off-limits to most Sims, those in the Law Enforcement career may end up poking around the facility to see if they can turn up any incriminating evidence.
While criminals always have to be on the lookout for the law, they don’t have to worry about other criminals breaking into their homes. Whoever said there’s no honor among thieves?
Flying V’s Coffeehouse
This 24-hour eatery is a popular hangout for Starlight Shores’ night owls. Come here after a show to grab a quick meal or some drinks.
As with the Broad Street Business Tower & Grill, Sim’s can also join the Culinary career here as well as attend a cooking class.
But this late night hotspot is best known for its outdoor stage, a popular venue for up-and-coming acts. Sims in the new performance careers can book gigs here starting at Level 3.
Following performances, the outdoor patio is the perfect setting for socializing and other relaxing activities. So even if you don’t feel like talking, take a seat, crack open a book (or laptop), and enjoy the fresh night air.
Hoi Polloi Event Center
Do you love playing the guitar? Perhaps you’re interested in becoming a musician? Either way, the Hoi Polloi Event Center has plenty to offer.
This performing arts center serves many purposes, including that of a Big Show venue for Sims in the performance careers.
Performers will need to pay their dues at smaller venues before they can take the stage, advancing to career Level 8 or higher. But Hoi Polloi is much more than a big stage.
Sims in the Music career report here for work every day. Guitar classes are offered here, and the event center also doubles as a movie theater.
Movies are shown every day starting at 5 PM, making it a great place to start a date in the evenings. If you’re low on money, consider taking a free tour of the facility.
Holy Cow Memorial Hospital
The Holy Cow Memorial Hospital is a medical facility with an integrated science lab. Starlight Shores’ brightest minds gather here to advance research in the fields of science and medicine.
Prospective doctors and surgeons can join the Medical career at the hospital. The hospital staff is way too busy healing patients to offer tours or classes.
However, the adjoining science lab offers plenty of activities to Sims off the street. In addition to joining the Science career, Sims can also take tours, attend classes, and donate insects at the science lab.
Sims can take Gardening or Logic classes here also. Building the Logic skill is essential to Sims in both the Medical and Science careers, so consider attending a class on a day off.
The science lab is also more than happy to receive any insects you’ve found while exploring. Who knows, your donation may lead to a major scientific breakthrough!
